? Being a Leader Introduction Good leadership qualities are the key requirement for any leader as well as the key determinantsof the success of any organization in the world. An organization cannot have a straight and better future if her leadership is in question. A performing leader will therefore ensure that the organization he or she is leading prospers to the latter according to the pursuits of the organization has put in place. The term effective leadership has been defined in several ways by different scholars; the definitions however arrive to the same convergence point with regard to the prosperity of the organization in question. Crumb defines effective leadership to refer to the type of leadership which caters for the needs of each and every individual worker or employee serving the organization in all capacities from the lowest rank to the highest rank (Crumb, 2005). This type of leadership he says is that which listens to the voice of every member of the organization and ensures that all their grievances are taken into consideration and addressed effectively to their satisfaction. The effective leader himself must be he who is able to listen keenly to the points raised by various members of the organization in order to ensure that their objectives are achieved in accordance with the goals of the organization. Like any other organizations around the world, the leadership of the Mobitech Company is aiming at achieving the best she can in satisfying the needs of her prospective customers in the ever changing world with regard to the technological demands of the world. The Mobitech Company is among the many companies around the world which deals with the provision of mobile phone services to her wide range of customers around the globe. I am the chief executive officer of the company and aims at driving the company far to help in achieving her numerous goals and objectives. This paper will look at the various ways through which the company management tries to achieve her objectives in an era of massive technological demands. Creating the Environment As we all know, the whole world is currently geared towards the use of technology in a myriad of areas of application. Technology as we have realized helps in numerous ways with regard to offering the solution for a wide range of issues. Technological applications have improved the lives of many people around the globe and eased the way certain activities are done and carried out (Dar, 2010). In the present times, technology has come into play in almost every sector of the economy and thus is one of the many products that are in very high demand among all people around the globe. Almost everyone in the world today owns or finds it necessary to possess a phone or just communicate to the other person through the phone. The use of mobile phones in communication has enabled many people to be able to communicate with various persons across the world irrespective of their present location on the earth’s surface. People can communicate with each other across the divide by simply pressing the phone buttons to connect to their fellows in different parts of the world. Indeed, this mode of communication has been made realistic in such a way that people may seem to be far away from each other as regards the distance between them yet to close with regard to the ease with which they can reach and communicate with each other. Besides, information is what makes a society moving and registering success in her numerous areas of work. The exchange of information and ideas between various groups of people is the sole determining factor for the economic development of a society, state or country and is therefore a necessity in everyday life. We are very aware of this as Mobitech Company and aims at bridging the gap between different people located anywhere on the earth’s surface so that the exchange of information between them is made more effective and efficient to ensure that their goals and objectives are achieved. Having fully and clearly defined these objectives in our vision and mission, we are able to work together as the team and employees of the Mobitech Company to ensure that these numerous needs are fulfilled and register a positive trend in the development of our company. The company’s core values must be kept by all the employees and the workers within the company. The core values are what drives the spirit of any company and therefore must be well understood by all. These core values according to Dar must act as the guidelines for the operations of the company (Dar, 2010). Mobitech Company has developed her core values which are envisioned to reflect the goals and objectives of the company. All our employees are therefore tuned to yield to these values and ensure that all their operations and plans are made in line with them. To help us achieve the goal of being the best mobile phone service provider in the world and uphold the highest level of integrity and worldwide recognition as stipulated in our values code, every department within our organization is encouraged to come up with ideas which would be recognized worldwide as well as at the local and regional levels. For this reason, all employees are required to ensure that they uphold the standards and adopt ethical concerns to the levels that match the international requirements in agreement with the statement in our core values. These core values as we realized can be best achieved by developing a culture within the company which is geared towards achieving these goals. The company has therefore developed a culture of ensuring that every department works as a team to avoid confusion and lack of understanding between the employees and the management. Every member of every department is required to co- operate with the management and their fellow employees in order to uphold the burner of a co- operate society which is working together to achieve the goals laid down. Leadership styles As a leader who has been working in various companies and organizations around the globe, I have gained a lot of experience in effective leadership and management techniques which I wish to apply at Mobitech Company to spur it to the greatest heights possible in the attainment of the company’s set goals and objectives. This is done by creating an enabling environment in the company and allowing each and every member of the company to feel the need of belonging to and working for the Mobitech Company. This will often ensure that all sections of the company are working jointly to realize the dreams set forth. This I aspire to achieve in the manner that is described in this article. There are ways of ensuring that every member of the company participates in the affairs of the company and register the uttermost responsibility in running the affairs of the company putting the company needs at the center of their daily duties and responsibilities. This can be done by ensuring that a spirit of teamwork and accountability is inculcated in the minds of all the employees of the company besides empowering each and every employee to be a leader in his or her area of service. This I am doing by ensuring that the following factors are considered and given the necessary regards. The first approach I consider in doing this is to inculcate and ensure the adoption of a proactive approach in carrying out all activities within and without the company and ensuring that every employee is positive in the achievement of his or her goals. Fogleman proposes that the proactive approach is developed by making sure that each person (employee) develops a goal which he or she wants to achieve at the end of the year (Fogleman, 2010). Each department is required to in line with this approach develop independent goals and objectives that they wish to attain within a given period of time. These goals and objectives must be vetted and made to play alongside the overall company objectives. By ensuring that every department has set her own goals and that they are working towards achieving this, there would be every indication that the overall goals of the company would be achieved. The secret of ensuring the achievement of the set goals is to ensure that every person and employee has a role to play in the pursuit of success of the company. The setting of goals and objectives at every level of the Mobitech Company is the most effective way of bringing every employee on board. This as well ensures that the employees are motivated in their work and to the success of the company’s economy. The other factor I consider in achieving and promoting teamwork and accountability is to encourage everyone to begin an activity with the knowledge of the end in mind. I know and believe as a long term serving chief leader and manager of various organizations that before one begins doing anything, he or she must be able to envision the end from the beginning so as to account for the actions taken in case such would be required. An effective leader and manager must be able to oversee the future from the beginning so as to plan up front. Therefore, effective leadership is that which pioneers the different fields of development before the others and exploit it to her benefit. Wester Claims that being able to predict the outcome of an activity being carried out by anyone is actually what effective planning requires (Wester, 2010). Ensuring that every leader within any department has the ability to account for the developmental projects proposed for execution will help to ensure that only those beneficial projects are implemented. The projects that are not beneficial to the company will then be eliminated at an early stage before their impacts are felt at the company level. To be able to envision the future from the beginning, one therefore has to thoroughly search the market and invent the best solutions that will be beneficial to the company. The envisioning of the future from the beginning before the implementation of any project proposed by the different departments within our organization has helped us to come up with products which have had wide recognition hence promoting our company both at the local as well as at the international levels (Dar, 2010). It has helped our marketing officers to come up with the best market related and useful recommendations for our engineers which have helped them develop the devices that best suit the demands of the world population. As we all know, the technological world has kept on changing with time depending on the demands of the world consumers. In fact, a technological invention is already late in the market upon its inception since people keep on inventing new ideas quite often. Technology is therefore one of the areas where changes are experienced quite often and therefore require a wide search of the market needs in order to develop a product that best suits the ever changing market demands. The Mobitech Company realized the need to search the market upfront before developing any new product for our customers to ensure that the products developed offers the best solution for these varying customers’ needs. For the success of the company, I understand that the first things have to be put forth first. I always prefer that the most important things are often given the first priority and considered important for the success of the company. The company affairs which actually fall in this category are therefore given the best of time required. Wester asserts that the needs and grievances of the company must be addressed first by the company’s management in order to ensure that the best of success is given priority and the necessary consideration (Wester, 2010). By putting the needs of the company first, I always make sure that I win the hearts of every employee working for the Mobitech Company and bring them closer to the management and operations of the company in a bid to promote understanding and awareness of the company’s mode of operations. This will also promote total devotion to the company’s work. For every organization to be successful, I understand that the values and needs of the company must be addressed at the most appropriate time and opportunity. This leadership strategy as I have come to realize helps in promoting teamwork and accountability on the parts of every member of the company and developing the zeal required for the effective and efficient running of the company’s operations, the end results are the success of the company as we have realized. Motivation I understand as a long time serving leader of various organizations in the world that every employee at the company has to be motivated to work best and deliver the best of their efforts in the company’s affairs. Motivational skills are the most important strategies that can be employed to ensure that all employees are brought on board and willing to account for any operations of the company to achieve the overall success desired (Crumb, 2005). Employees can be motivated in various ways depending on the management skills of the organization’s leadership. The following are the many ways through which I have managed to motivate the employees of Mobitech Company and which I have found very effective in making them fully devoted to work for the success of the company. Every employee wants to feel valued and appreciated for any kind of slight achievement registered for the company. Appreciation is therefore one of the most important ways of motivating the employees and making them feel that their efforts and ability are cared for and valued in the company. Dar notes that the appreciation of every effort invested by any employee in the company’s work needs to be appreciated and valued to the latter (Dar, 2010). Besides, I always make sure that every employee’s contribution to the running of the company is taken into consideration. In order to solve any matter affecting the company in a more effective and smooth way, I understand and know that the voices of every person in each department must be given utter consideration and each must be well understood so that all the employees, skilled and unskilled can feel valued and appreciated. This boosts the employees’ morale and they are always willing to participate freely in ensuring that the company’s affairs are given due consideration. Besides, motivation also comes from giving the most appropriate payment to the employees of the company. Each and every member of the company needs to be given the pay which is a reciprocal of the amount of work and responsibility endowed in him or her. In this way therefore, every employee will feel that his or her efforts are well understood and recognized by the company. Experts are always in high demand all over the world and a better pay is what makes one company more successful than the other. Good payments in terms of salary allocations and the award of handouts and token to the excellent performers needs to be more tangible and worth the amount of work done by any individual employee (Fogleman, 2010). In this way therefore, all employees will feel valued and well taken care of in order to effectively and efficiently offer their best for the success of the company. Conclusion In conclusion, I would like to reiterate here that the success of any company or organization will highly depend on the management strategies employed by the company’s management. Effective management capabilities and the encouragement of teamwork among the workers help to create harmony and the justification of the targeted objectives. The management can achieve her objectives by initiating an enabling environment for all employees working for the organization and enhancing the motivational strategies for the employees by bringing them on board to work as a team in ensuring a better result at the end. Each department must also be made accountable for every action undertaken and be able to plan up front for any project before its inception. Bibliography CrumbCheryl. (2005, May).
