The paper "Corruption at Governmental Organisations" is a perfect example of a management research paper. Corruption has existed in human society for many years in all countries across the globe. Therefore, corruption is a major issue in governmental organisations that involves abuse of office and public exploitation for personal gain. As it will be evidenced in this proposal, corruption is caused by numerous factors such as system-related factors, psychological factor as well as the cultural factor. Other factors like weak accountability, discretionary power as well as monopoly power amongst the public officials could lead to corrupt acts. The study will demonstrate how corruption reduces budget revenues, decreases public spending efficiency, prevent democratic development and Foreign Direct Investment, and increases the budget deficit. In view of this, the study will demonstrate why the anti-corruption campaign must focus on the reforms of tax and customs departments, judiciary systems, and civil service. In most developing countries, corruption has become prevalent were illegal, and criminal commercial activities have become the norm. Basically, corruption is the society’s dark side that makes citizens of corrupt countries remain illiterate as well as poor. Furthermore, the productivity, distributions of income, and public infrastructure quality in such countries have enormously deteriorated thanks to corruption. Evidently, corruption is a major problem and nothing of substance can be expected from it.

  • 1.1 Statement of the Problem

Economic and political commentators perceive corruption as being prevalent in developing countries caused by high socio-economic inequalities, inadequate economic growth as well as poverty. Corruption across the globe is an outcome of weak institutions that cannot sufficiently impugn corrupt individuals in government organisations. With the view of this perspective, the study will demonstrate why there is a need for a stronger civil society that would ensure transparency and accountability in governmental organisations. As mentioned by Moyo (2014, p.2), the accumulation of riches by greed civil servants through corrupt ways has resulted in increased corruption trends and socio-economic hardships.
