Strengths:

Weaknesses:

I am a hard worker and expect my people to work as I do or more. Am always motivated in what I do because I know what it takes to be a successful person, where through my actions I show my people what I expect from them. When I am working with people in a group, I usually motivate them to strive to achieve a common goal. Planning my future is one of my strengths that help me to schedule my time well. I always see opportunities in life and also see beyond the problems and setbacks. When there is conflict in any situation, I think about how to preserve the relationships and always ensure that my needs are met. When speaking to people, I ensure that I give them a composed answer before I finish speaking to them. I achieve this through collaborating with others to solve the conflicts while using various problem-solving techniques and tools. In the cases of the team agreement, I always figure out the right ways to solve the situation and explain why it is the best decision to take that approach. I achieve this aspect by ensuring that everyone is aware of the contribution that I make to a positive outcome. Before I undertake any issue, I establish performance standards and the expectations. When I am faced with performance issues, I always ensure that I establish whether the problem was caused by lack of the resources, lack of skills or lack of motivation. The discipline and rewards that I use are linked with the performance and the defined behaviour goals. Again when rewarding individuals, I ensure that the reward is of value to the recipient. When disciplining individuals, I always ensure that I am consistent in the manner I give it when they give a substandard performance. I ensure that people get the right tools, training, and resources to attain the results that I anticipate. I assist people to establish their performance objectives that are challenging, particular and those that are related to the organisational goals. I also encourage people to set their goals and ensure that their achievement measurements challenge them in a fair manner. Again I ensure that I rotate the assignments and give people chances to learn and apply different skills, together with combining their job assignments. When making decisions, I ensure that I evaluate the risks that are associated with an alternative option before I make the decision together with determining the real issue before I start a decision-making process. When making a decision in a group, I strive to emphasise on how to gain support for my plans. In every circumstance, I usually set aside time to plan and schedule and use goal setting to make a decision on what tasks and activities that I am supposed to work on to achieve my goals. I also leave some contingency time in my schedules so that I can deal with the unexpected occurrences. When tackling my tasks, I ensure that I comprehend them and establish whether I am working on a low, medium or high value. Again I have the aspect of prioritising my activities when given any task where I analyse the importance carefully. Deadlines and distractions do not stress me at all when undertaking my activities. Also, I usually do not get home some work to get it done because I strive to achieve the results within the stipulated time in the workplace.

I have some weaknesses that I need to overcome when undertaking various tasks so as to achieve my set goals. When making my expectations from other people I rarely ensure that I maintain similar standards that I expect from each person. When offering the feedback sometimes, I do not observe enough on the behaviour before making a general statement that is accurate. Another major weakness is that I rarely go along the decisions of others, but I inject my ideas in the mix. Some other times when am making a decision I don't think about others or get to know what others perceive the about the issue. Again, when someone is giving feedback, I do not always give them a chance to offer illustrations that I can comprehend the issue better. I do not always pay close attention to other's body language when we are discussing issues and do not study the needs, of the audience, but I just figure out what is best and how I can say it without understanding my audience. Every time we are involved in a group decision making I strive to ensure that audience understands my contribution to a positive outcome. This aspect is a weakness because I do not always have the best input to the solution of the issues compared to others. Also, I do not always compliment others when they do something to me, and also, cause more harm when trying to resolve a conflict than ensuring that I get the best way to resolve the issue. Sometimes I do not ensure that I comprehend what motivates other people in my team and after seeing good work I do not praise immediately. This aspect is a weakness because it can result to demoralisation to the person who has done the good work. When I choose a solution to solve a particular issue, I do not always evaluate the solutions that are needed to be taken. Again sometimes when am making decisions, I do not always ensure that I know the process whether is strong or not. Also, I rarely rely on my experiences when determining the potential solutions to particular issues. Often I am surprised by the decisions that I make together with the consequences that occur. Rarely do I use the well-defined process of structures when making some decisions. This aspect occurs because I believe that involving stakeholders in making the decisions in generating solutions can result in complications. I also take little time less than needed to choose the best decision-making tool for a particular decision. Another major weakness is that I prefer to make decisions alone and let the other members know about the decision later. Sometimes I do not work on the tasks that have the highest priority and most of the times I find myself dealing with the interruptions rather than my core business. When I have a good idea, I don't instantly go ahead in implementing it Iand do not gather information from various sources to help stay in current focus with my field of work. I do not take the time to determine how things are working to establish the situation even when there are problems. This practice is quite dangerous as it does not allow me to know the appropriate measures that should be taken in case of an occurrence of a problem. Sometimes when am undertaking a particular task, I do not understand the needed time that is needed when am performing the task. Sometimes my mind wanders away, and I find it hard to concentrate for long spells.

Opportunities:

Threats:

I have various opportunities that I can utilise to make myself better. Before I make any decision, I usually determine the risks that are associated with any decision that I make which can help me to avoid errors or to make an uninformed decision. In my group activities, I strive to support the ideas of my group members and attempt to make them work. Before communicating my decisions, I usually formulate an implementation plan that can be used to establish a good framework that can make things work out. I do not always prefer to make decisions on my own by sometimes I let people know what I have decided. This aspect can help to make implementation of the decisions easier because others members are aware of the decision before its implementation. I also find the factors that are most relevant to the decision use them to evaluate my choices. I gain the support of my plans through emphasising my confidence. Sometimes I can maintain focus on a particular task for a substantial amount of time to ensure that I get the best out it. This approach can help me to understand what is needed when performing a particular task. My capability to multitask is another big opportunity that I can utilise to perform different tasks at the same time and achieve them. I am capable of finding ways to spend time wisely both with my team or when alone. This aspect helps in devoting my time in a more profitable way and aid in achieving goals. I sometimes attempt to anticipate the cause of the problems or confusion and deal with them appropriately. This aspect helps me to address issues at the time and look for alternative ways of overcoming the challenges. I say what think without worrying what other people may perceive it. I have a strong belief that it will work out well together. This approach helps me to give the team ideas or limelight on the issues that we discuss. Before I plan my communications, I usually consider the cultural barriers. This aspect helps to avoid the possible conflicts that can arise through the communication. I believe in team because when am coming up with ideas I find myself using phrases like ‘we will do' we don't'. This aspect can help the team members to own the decision and reduce the time needed to convince other members to buy the idea. Before I can up with a decision, I have an attribute of seeking the other previous ways that have worked out elsewhere to establish whether the decision that I take will work or not. When I gather ideas, I do not discard those that do not suit the solution because later they can find their use in the process of solving issues. This approach helps me not lose some meaningful ideas that can be of importance to the problem solving in different dimensions. Sometimes I look things based on my environment to inspire me to find different ways of interpreting the problems. This aspect can help me to know how to approach a certain problem that can arise in future. Again when am solving an issue, I attempt to rethink my understanding of the issue to help in developing a deeper insight into the issue. When my team members make their contribution about the issue, I do not ignore them because I do not have ways of implementing them. This aspect can help to motivate members in making their contributions towards ways of providing a solution. All these opportunities can help me to motivate the team members or enhance ways of solving issues.

I am faced with various threats in my life that can hinder me from achieving my activities' goals. When I am assigning tasks to my team members, I do not take the time to consider their interests and skills, which make achieving the goals to be difficult to some individuals. Sometimes I allow my individuals are feeling to interfere with productivity and performance, which can result in poor results. My lack of appraising a good work once I see it can result in discouragement to the individuals whom we are working together. I do not always offer competitive wages or compensation to the members. This aspect can threaten their performance standards. I have a poor approach to the problems because I do not develop an implementation plan that I can use with necessary events that should be undertaken. Also, I don't define each question well to avoid asking the wrong question. I do not systematically search for the issues that result to problems against a predefined standard and at the same time I ask myself few questions about the nature of the issue. When there is a problem I do not evaluate the potential solution of an issue. Sometimes I do not take the time to evaluate solutions or take adequate time to think about I should make a choice between options. When am solving a particular issue, I do not look back to see the causes of the problem. This approach may result in more problems if the cause of the problem is not addressed. I do not always communicate difficult issues through email which can make the response to the issue to be delayed and get worse. Sometimes I do not use the talents, expertise or time of other people to help in doing the work. This approach may make the aspect of doing the work difficult. I do not use the tracking system to know how I spend my time. This aspect can result allocating more time than intended. I do not have a clear plan that I should use in dealing with interruptions or disruption, which can cost me more energy when addressing issues that can make the realisation of the goal to be difficult. I rarely delegate the right tasks to my team members to work more effectively. When I am approaching a particular issue, I do not address the political issues and the consequences that are related to the problem. Also, I do not ask myself questions on possible problems that can arise in future when I am addressing a particular issue. Another threat is my belief that once I make a decision is the end of the problem-solving process because the decision needs to be implemented and close supervision to ensure things work in an anticipated manner. A major threat arises from this aspect because the decision may fail to be implemented and the problem can magnify. Again when structuring my decisions, I do not use a well-defined process which can result in the use of a difficult method that is formulated to make a decision. Finally, when am communicating a decision I do not include the justification and rationale, this can make the decision to fail to be understood by the members and fail to own.
