The number of child care service providers has increased rapidly due to their increasing demand. Building Block’s daycare centre will be providing ultra care to the infants and children admitted to the centre. The centre has obtained its license in the year 2011 and has to comply with the rules and regulations of the Child Care Facilities Act. The Child Care Facilities Act was introduced in the year 1988, and the government expects all child care centres to abide by the regulations of this act. Apart from complying with the rules and regulations of this act, Building Block’s daycare centre has been providing extensive care to infants.

The centre is one of the emerging daycare centres meant as a blessing for the working parents in Chicago. As per the survey conducted by the US Department of Labor in the year 2006, there were 1.4 million employed child care service providers in the same year (U. S. Department of Labor, 2009). The majority of which were part-time workers and the remaining were working full time in child care centres. Out of the total, 20 per cent of the child care service providers worked in private households, 18 per cent worked in the child care centres, and 20 per cent worked in educational and residential care facilities (U. S. Department of Labor, 2009). The employment of child care workers is to increase by 18 per cent during the tenure 2006 to 2016. Early childhood programs are popular in the USA; these help in nurturing the child and prevent children from falling ill or being victims of physical abuse while their parents are away for work. One of the major programs designed for the welfare of the children was The Chicago Parent program which was a 12-hour session program designed to promote topics related to the welfare of the children. This shows that along with the parents, the government authorities are also concerned about the development of children at an early age. Early childhood days are very important for the child as it is in these years a child inculcates certain habits which is important for the upbringing of a child.

The child care services offered by Building Block’s daycare centre would be unique. In America, there are two kinds of child care service providers; Private household workers who provide facilities to the children at their own residence, child care centres that provide child care facilities to the children at the child care centres. Since Building Block’s daycare centre is an emerging child care service centre, it looks after the infants and children during day time. Currently, there are 613 child care centres in Chicago and vary in size and scope (Child Care Center. Us, 2013a). Parents prefer licensed child care centres because these child care service providers are scrutinized and monitored regularly by the government. Currently, there are about 116,532 licensed childcare centres in the USA (Child Care Center. Us, 2013b).
