ID Lecturer What are the most important things for me to do as a new leader or supervisor to enable me to be successful? As a new leader or supervisor, some of the most important things on my part include the fact that I should take charge of things around me. This will mean that I am accountable for all my actions and deeds and hence mature in my decisions. This is a sign of my success in the role of a leader or a supervisor because then people will look up to me with a sense of positive skepticism.

Their actions will become dependent on my decisions which means that I have to be answerable for everything that I carry out as a leader or as a supervisor. Also I need to make sure that as a leader it is paramount on my part to document everything so that no one stands up to me and challenges my role at any point in time (Mannion, 2009). This is imperative because it will dictate where I am going wrong and what corrective work decisions are required on my part.

I understand that success comes with hard work but in this day and age, in order to be taken as a successful person, I have to make sure that I play smart and manage my things in such a manner that people take a leaf out of my book. In other words, I need to be their role model which is pertinent at the end of the day. When people believe in what I say, this will mean half of the success has been achieved and I have to make sure that the other half is also realized in a steady approach that I have to take.

Even though there would be some hard decisions that I have to take every now and then, I must counter them with logic and reasoning (Jones, 2007). This is so required since I have to justify my actions in the light of the organizational approach. As a leader or as a supervisor, it is essential that I portray my mettle through conviction, immense belief in my team, proper utilization of the resources and a general know-how of things around my entirety.

If this comes about, I am doing my job properly and I can rightly be judged as a true leader or a supervisor. Success comes with a number of pitfalls but I need to take all these things in a positive fashion. This will ensure that I am bound to achieve my goals and objectives which I have planned for myself and the organization in the long run (Parker, 2012). In the end, I will suggest that as a leader or as a supervisor, I must have tolerance within my fore to take on things which might be against what I have thought of things around me.

This will prove to be a point of difficulty but one which will make me resilient and strong at the end of the day. I am sure that with my hard work and dedication, I will turn into a new leader or a supervisor which I have thought of myself to be with success being a vital part of the same. References Jones, E.
