This is the only major delivery company in Qatar, it has expansion of stores, and other amenities relevant for goods and services delivery business. It has private ownership and operations. The management philosophy of this company is based on mutual respect and responsibility. The company’s structure and environment encourages respect amongst employees and prospective customers. Convenience and customers’ service delivery are the major operational lines to win customers. To achieve differentiation, the company operates beyond business standard hours with an offer for full time working customer care. Using innovative techniques, the delivery company is able to offer a competitive advantage and efficiency to occupy large share of extensive market. Customer friendly prices are also a point to note. 1.3 The business plan This is a big company, and there is a plan to serve, acquire and retain customers. Our prioritized services will surpass customers’ expectations. 1.4 Types of business and the well of incorporation The delivery business will incorporate full delivery services, which includes international delivery, goods packaging, mail boxes and other parcel services. The company is a registered corporation under international incorporation rules. 1.4 Franchising Delivery Company involves a form of distribution, it allows private owned operators and franchisees make use of the company’s trademark, and in return, the respective operator pays a fee to the supplier. This enhances marketing and service expansion. 2.0 The departmental structure of an organization, including organization chart 2.1 The difference between centralization and decentralization, and spans of control In a centralized organization, the executives usually make the present organization effecting decisions. These decisions get facilitation down several levels of the organization’s hierarchy. The span of control in this system of an organization usually broadens towards the bottom rank. This system is a bit prevalent in small-scale organizations. In such organizations, several officials who get mandates from a central office usually head departments. Operation responsiveness, networks for decision-making and simpler communication channels are some of the characteristic factors (Jones, 2008). A decentralized organization functions under delegation of duties by the top executives to the lower ranks of the organization. Low rigid policies are usually to receive control by the organization. There is also a wide span of control amongst each organization officer. There are several divisions of the organization pointing towards specific function. A manager who has a role to play in decision-making heads each department. Wide span of control is of use to minimize the number of the ranks within a specified organization. In this form of structure, the perfect controls are in place and have flat structural form. There is top from bottom information flow hence the organizational executives have a wide chance of informed decisions from the minor ranks. 2.2 Roles of a director and manager In a delivery company, directors have several roles to perform. These include monitoring, planning, risk and quality management, resource management, change management and problem solving in the organization. They should have to be efficient and able to understand their roles, which are experience based. Learning and technical upright information on operations should be a forefront in company manager. The assistance with sales and maintenance manager, the director re-negotiates and creates a service agreement and periodicals. He is able to give a translation of the requirements for procedure, agreement documents and delivery instructions (Jones, 2008). During a time of urgency, the director mitigates, manages and solves problems. The director as per the schedule provides accounts and management performance reports. He also builds and maintains customer relations thus ensuring delivery of quality services about the present company rules. Manager on the other hand is the departmental head and has a role to play in a decentralized system of a company. 2.3 Effective communication in business communicating effectively is very essential for a smooth run of an organization. This entails information transmission from a single source or even sources to a target receiver. This information is usually relayed in terms of a message. Delivery note, sales literature, invoice and other needful information have provision to a customer upon a service delivery. Multi channel communication form is applicable in today’s organization (Jones, 2008). Electronic media have several applications in the modern communication from the employer to employees and the customer to the service provider and vice versa. Face to face, conversation, email, telephones and memos are also preferable communication means. 3.0 Production methods 3.1 Batch production Most companies employ job production method to complete a given job in time. When small-scale production is a need, unique products and services are produced and delivered conveniently. In batch production method, a number of units of a specified product have completion of one stage then proceed to the subsequent stage. The method organizes production both in large and small scale as the volumes of production are the determinants. The batch method of production requires division of tasks into small parts to ease the process. In this method, labor specialization is achievable. Lower capital expenditure is maintained, and equipments are put into the task by careful production schedule. 3.2 Flow production Methods In this method, production assumes a continuous process. The flow moves from one process to the subsequent one in a continuous manner. Standardization of a product is mandatory in this process. Production line is distinct, and the batch queuing and the idle production are not of use here. Flow is a continuous process. There is movement of the product from one-step to the other. This normally happens where in standardized product, and can be of use using a production line method. Progressive and continuous method is a task in flow method. Several merits are available in this production, reduced skills of labour, improvement in material and flow of work and faster job completion. Faults and errors are usually hard to detect in this method since there is no off flow motion and time for faults detection (Jones, 2008). 3.3 Team working, productivity, quality control and stock control Team working is the use of the group or teams of professional and non-professionals of a limited number with a common goal to cooperate and accomplish a certain task either on temporary or permanent basis. Each individual is given a chance to make an effective contribution towards the objective achievement. In many places of work and corporation, this is a mandatory mode of operation. The company’s efforts to amend and correct defaults towards improvement of goods and services has a common reference as quality control. In some companies, quality control entails defects corrections only while in others; quality assurance takes the stand for detection and prevention of quality problems. Stock control is maintaining the right stock level and ability to meet customers demand (Jones, 2008). Cost maintenance and minimal holding of the stock are also mandatory to be a balance for the perfect stock control. 4.0 Stakeholders in a business An individual or a group interested and has a share in an organization is known as stakeholder. Organization policies, actions and opinions directly affect a stakeholder. Most of The stakeholders comprises of directors, creditors, government, employees, unions, suppliers, shareholders and the adjacent community in which the company gets its resources. The equality of stakeholders cannot be of match. Excellent trading tasks are prioritized to customers but not exceeding the employees consideration. Sometimes, stakeholders gain the effects of negativity when a company decides to cut costs. This impact faces both the adjacent community and workers within the local economy (Jones, 2008). 4.1 Business environmental and other groups responsibility The ethical impact and sustainability of a business or company investment can be of measure through main areas of concerns, which has an impact from certain central factors. Real estates, equity, fixed income companies and corporations involve non-financial factors to impact environmental responsibility. Voluntary environmental concerns and initiatives by a corporation have a great impact to the society. All forms of environmental regulations and the extent in which the take may have a right turn. Encouragement and review of motivational factors is the key resource to be held by company executives for environmental improvement and promotion of friendly environs. 4.2 Recruitment There are several key steps in workforce recruitment process. In finding the right staff for a given business, one has to follow certain procedures and steps. Planning, correct position description writing, job advertisement, the interview and employee absorption to the current work force are the laid down procedure. Correct job description and requirements with a combination of the right advertisement will assist in the correct job hiring process. This use of templates ensures that the right person fit for the company with good experience is inducted(Jones, 2008). 4.3 Retention management in business Retention management utilizes the effectiveness and quality measures that contribute towards employee’s retention in a business. The performance and binding activities and degree of loyalty directly contribute towards this retention. A successful employee satisfaction and performance leads towards these factors. 4.4 Ways in which business appraises and develops people The formal or informal method through which an active employee is capable of discussing their development and training needs with current appraiser is the meaning of the term appraisal. This process is facilitated by two-channeled communication between the employer and the employee. The employee in return is able to understand the organizations needs as the organization in turn grasps the better understanding of the requirements and needs of the employee (Jones, 2008). Training courses and other opportunities for an employee’s development are made available to the appraised individual. With the correct management, appraisal can be a perfect tool for motivation as it gives guidelines and opportunity for employees to meet their great work needs. 4.5 Motivation of people in business In motivation, there is no preset calculation, formula or even a worksheet. There are several ways of motivation; some employees can be motivated by salary increment while others may appreciate the recognition as best performers (Jones, 2008). Others may put more effort in case of a share in the operation of the company or business.
