Abstract

Goal setting within an organization is the most important task in order to compete in the global market. It enables the employees to work in the field of achieving the goals. By setting customer-centric goals the organizations are able to increase their customer base in the international market. However, the goals are allotted a specific time frame and the employees try to achieve the goals within the stipulated time frame. This in turn develops the efficiency of the employees to work according to the planned strategies. The research has also suggested that the ability of the employees to achieve the goals also depends on the level of commitment that they have towards the organization. The goal setting theory has a positive relationship with the performance in the international market that is higher the level of goals; greater would be the performance of the organization. Therefore, it is recommended that training of the highly skilled workforce would help them perform better within the organization.
