The paper "Success Story of McDonald's and Denny’ s" is a good example of a business assignment.   McDonald's is one of the companies that had succeeded through the use of standardization. The menu was the same in all the countries it operates including China. In some instances, the company had to import bricks so as to ensure that the building is the same throughout. The success of the company can be attributed to the brand image of the companies. The strategies that were used by the company promoted the products of the company among the local customers.

The products of the company are associated with high standards and the customers were able to consume the products as it is associated with international standards. The standardization process by the company had benefits as it enabled the customers to have a taste of the unique food that was prepared. The standardization of the products of the company was marketed positively by the company which impacted positively on the acceptance by the customers. The standardization process can be successful depending on how the ideas are marketed to the customers.

In some instances, the local people do not believe that an international company can prepare the local food and hence the need for standardization. Denny’ s success story was attributed to the changes that it made on the international market. A menu that suites the needs of the local people were developed in foreign countries. Through the changes in the menu, the company was able to meet the needs of the local people and hence leading to its success. The success of the company is therefore as a result of understanding the needs of the local customers.

The strategy worked as the sense of belonging was installed by the company. Localizing the operations of a company makes it is easy to fit into the local market. The company is also able to survive the challenges that most of the international companies face in fitting in the local markets. Most of the people prefer eating the food that they know which contributed to the success of the company as it was preparing the food that is commonly consumed by the local people. Pros and cons of standardization Pros Standardization plays an important role in terms of maintaining a coherent global image of the company.

This enables the people traveling from one country to the other to enjoy the same products that are offered by the company. Standardization enables the company to monitor and communicate effectively with the other branches operating in different regions. The setting up of the company is much faster as the company has all the requirements. Standardization also enables the company to offer consistent customer experience to the customers (Aguilera-Caracuel, et al, 2386).

It is through the standardization that MacDonald was able to win the hearts of the customers. The same quality of service can also be offered by the company regardless of the region. This plays an essential role in ensuring that the local people in developing countries are able to enjoy high-quality services. The economies of scale are also improved which plays an essential role in ensuring that the company is able to reduce the cost of operations. Uniformed marketing is also achieved by the company through standardization.
