This new age of technology has brought lot of new types of inventions. Undoubtedly the emergence of computers, chip based technology, networks, intelligent machines and especially wireless technologies has changed the world completely. Also, the techniques of wireless technology have brought a revolution in the areas of business, domestic, social and daily working areas. This technology has completely transformed the way of working and handling data, information, communication, machines and all types of working. At the present, we have more freedom of communication as compared to wire based structures. In addition, information technology, computer science, and radio technology scientists have invented various different tools and methods to reduce and minimize the load of these heavy wires for the communication and other purposes (Shelly, et al., 2005; Turban, et al., 2005). This research is aimed at discussing one of the most excellent technology emerged in this era known as “Bluetooth”. Bluetooth is a new type of invention that offers the user to remotely link to main system without any wire. This is a new type of radio technology that offers the enhanced facility to link, transfer data and communicate without the difficulties of the huge wires around us. This research will provide a deep insight into the new and state-of-the-art technology of the Bluetooth with respect to its usage in the context of education and campus life. This research presents the detailed analysis of this technology emergence, innovations, and main facilities and advantages attained through this technology. History of Bluetooth Technology According to (Kohrs, 2009), the emergence of Bluetooth is done centuries ago. This word has its long history and has roots in the European history. Denmark King who ruled from 940 to 981 was famous for his capability to facilitate people communication. Harald Bluetooth was the name of that King. This technology is named after the name of Harald Bluetooth (Kohrs, 2009). As Kohrs (2009) describes that logo of the Bluetooth is based on the characters from the runic alphabet that were used in the ancient Denmark. According to Beyman (2009), this logo was used by the King Harald who ruled over the Denmark and Norway (Beyman, 2009). Beyman (2009) has also outlined that initial version of Bluetooth technology was a short distance data transfer protocol that has developed through corporation of “Ericsson” in the mid 1990s (Beyman, 2009). The continued emergence has continued in this field and in December 1, 1999, Lucent, Microsoft, 3Com, and Motorola had attached to a Promoter Group for the Bluetooth technology. This group was willing to spend money to publicity the new technology standard (GSMFavorites, 2006). Basics of Bluetooth Bluetooth is a revolutionary wireless technology which is used to transfer data between proximally close devices. It operates with the help of networks and such a networks are known as Personal Area Networks (PAN).These connections are very safe because there is no risk of loss of data or theft of data. There are many advantages of Bluetooth technology but the most important is it offers wireless transfer of data and there is no need of connecting cables or wires. On the other hand the biggest drawback is it only works efficiently and effectively over maximum distance of 100 meters. Bluetooth technology is widely used by mobile phone market. Now even all the smartphones have Bluetooth technology that enable the user to transfer data from his device to other multiple proximally close devices. Not only in smartphones, this modern technology is also used in tablets, printers, DVD players, video game players, laptops, in TV remotes and many others. Similarly it is also widely implemented in various other and gradually it is becoming a part of our daily lives (Thadani, 2015). How Bluetooth Works Bluetooth technology is designed in such a way that has an ability to operate as a master or as slave. According to the specification it can switch its role. In two paired devices one is operating as a master and other is as a slave in which the configuration can be at single point. The multiple point device that has eight slaves and one master is called as piconet. A group of piconets hubbed via single Bluetooth device those who acting as master is placed in one piconet and slaves in other piconet. A single piconet is covering less area and devices than a scatter net. The working of master is to control the traffic of available bandwidth between the slaves.it also calculate and allocate the frequency of communication with each slave and locked them orderly. Master also play its part in dividing and allocating time slots to every member of the network by controlling the transmission. Bluetooth device does not need any prior information of connected device because it has extraordinary built-in mechanism that makes inquiry, establishing connection and discover the database of the connected device. The procedure of connecting device via Bluetooth is given below (Manduku, et al., 2012): The master of the network send an inquiry to discover the connection, which it wants to be connected with. Then selected slave allows the master to enter in its inquiry scan mode and give answers of master’s inquiry. So in this way slave make response to master’s inquiry with the help of frequency Hop Synchronization (FHS). As FHS has all the information that is required by the master for establishing the connection like Bluetooth address and class of device. After collecting the data, the master go to paging mode and paging the device by using address that is given by slave. Finally, the slave device will required to enter into the scan mode to establish the connection with his master (Manduku, et al., 2012). The Pros and Cons of Bluetooth People can easily transfer data with the help of Bluetooth technology. It provides extraordinary speed of transferring data. Multiple devices can connect with each other through Bluetooth. It is very easy to use as there is no compatibility issues and this feature makes Bluetooth technology even more impressive. At the same time, Bluetooth technology has also few drawbacks and some people believe that there are many area on which Bluetooth technology needs improvement (Thadani, 2015). The Advantages of Bluetooth There are many advantages of Bluetooth technology. Some are given below: Wireless connectivity: it provides wireless connectivity and data transfer facility among multiple devices like computers, pads, phones and many other. The wireless technology makes Bluetooth device impressive because a user does not need to use cables or wires for speedy transfer of data. Cost effective: Bluetooth technology is not costly even very affordable to use in offices and homes for data transfer purpose. It is considered cost effective way of connectivity and exchange of data in the technology market. Variety of types: Bluetooth Technology works in variety of types and models. Laptops, Ipad, phones and other gadgets are worked in quality inbuilt type. On the other hand, Bluetooth devices can also be connected externally with the computer systems and phones and this external type is also not costly at all. These external devices are available in the markets any one can purchase and attach it to the laptop or computer. External type of Bluetooth devices are plug and play but many other type of Bluetooth devices require proper installation for working. Power saving: As compared to other devices Bluetooth technology saves power because it is wireless. A person can use Bluetooth inbuilt for transferring data without exhausting the battery of the phone or laptop. Wireless nature of Bluetooth makes it power saving device. Easy data transfer: It is the fastest and easiest way of sharing and exchanging data.it makes communication process easy. User only requires to connect and paired the two devices for transferring data efficiently and quickly Overall, Bluetooth technology is very useful for the user. User can enjoy different types and models of Bluetooth devices. But only in the case of external Bluetooth, a user have to beware of fake types because there are lots of fake external Bluetooth devices are available in the market and also even online. The use of Bluetooth technology has increased that is why many new and fake devices are also being introduced in market. Therefore for selecting and purchasing the external device especially one have to consult the reliable dealer (Gaziev, 2011). The Disadvantages of Bluetooth As Bluetooth devices can transfer data at around 25 Mbps speed, but at the same time through Wi-Fi Direct technology one can transfer data at 250 Mbps speed. Thus, Bluetooth technology needs improvement on this area. Nevertheless Bluetooth technology offers secure transfer than Wi-Fi Direct, but those who know hacking can easily hack secure and short range Bluetooth networks as well. As Bluetooth device consumes insignificant battery power but if someone forget to switch off the device it would not only exhaust the battery power and but also take down the battery life. Eventually, the shortcomings of Bluetooth devices are less than its benefits. It proves that Bluetooth devices are very useful and widely used by millions of people around the world. Even the users will increase with time as well because it provide convenient and easy transfer that is commendable. And in near future Bluetooth technology will become a part of our every single gadget and electronic device of our home. (Thadani, 2015). The use of Bluetooth Technology in Education Sector After the revolution of Information Technology the way of accessing data has changed. Now data can be accessed online and offline. Technology has transformed the world. It has changed the world into global village where people can connect with each other any time from any place efficiently. Communication landscape has changed significantly and these new developments has also made dramatic shift in the ways of young people in perceiving and interpreting meanings of texts of all kind especially like multimodal texts. Multimodal is the form of communication in this globalized world which includes communication like graphical, digital, artifact and electronic kind. Even in school setting a learner needs broad and wider range of affordance for understanding and making meanings but multimodal communication is kind of lens that is used to understand and making meanings by the learner. In addition, the development of technology has also created the need of digitalize learning system. The tool that is used to deal with this need is “Bluetooth technology”. Bluetooth technology allow people to connect with each other, especially with the likeminded people that also a form of camaraderie of shared interest. It is also helpful in identifying and solving problem as it promotes collaborative approach. It is also a new way of experimenting new ideas and forms of communication. Especially it is advantageous for authors who are very grateful to those who explained the potential and made Bluetooth technology applicable in the education setting and environments. The Bluetooth technology can offer numerous benefits if it’s used in classroom setup. Students can learn various vital skills and knowledge which is very helpful in bridging up the social gap amongst the students. Student spend ample of time with their peers in practicing with or without the support of teacher.it helps in making learning process effective as it involves peers. Students get opportunity to apply their skills and formulating different new strategies of understanding and writing impressive text. At the same time this kind of technology should be used with care because if it would not be regulated well, some students get involved very much with this new kind of device and ignore the real content and concepts that they have to learn with the help of this technology. Difficulties teachers face in campus The oral and verbal traditional methods of conveying instructions are not very effective for many students. Even they have proved costly as well. These traditional methods do not meet the technological needs of this modern society (Manduku, et al., 2012). As it is the responsibility of the teacher to help his student in learning process and to make him feel successful. Many time, students get bored from their school work and become uninterested. Some students show their least interest during the instructional process and other are already passive listeners who show no response at all during the learning process. In Schools and their academic tasks, the concepts of learning process have become more abstract and difficult to understand. These concept are more difficult to understand for those who have weak basics and their rudimentary level of mastery does not allow fluent learning. Furthermore many campuses provides not enough facilities. Students are grouped together without considering their capabilities, capacities and individual differences. Similarly, ineffective instructional groups are also formed in which both slow and fast learners are grouped together. In such ineffective classrooms mostly instructional processes ae also out-of-date. Likewise, it is very difficult to control and deliver effective instruction and services to such a large number of students. Hence, teacher of these large groups face different discipline issues especially when the teacher is the only one who deliver the instruction process and students are passive listener and observers only. Therefore, many resources are ignored and not well adapted to build essential skills in students that leads lack of interest, creativity and innovation in students. Furthermore, the layout of traditional classrooms also creates inadequate work spaces for students. The chalkboards at the front side or the other side are the main teaching resources that are present in the traditional classrooms. In addition, in the traditional classrooms instructional process is one of the essential activity that is used in the context of measuring the desired student behavior and it is also considered vital factor of evaluating individual differences. Integration of Bluetooth Technology in Classroom Instruction As students are aware and know very well about the use and the advantages of electronic devices in their daily life. But it is also mandatory for the teachers to learn how to integrate electronic culture with teaching and learning processes. Now a days, to improve the performances of teachers and students the integration of technology is using during the learning process. This new learning process is not taking the place of teacher even it is improving the quality of teaching of the teacher. In this idea different contents and processes are shown to students by teachers and this content reinforce the student to give new ideas and helps teachers to get constant response from the students. Application of Bluetooth technology in a campus setting Classrooms that are equipped with modern technological devices are playing very significant role in delivering effective instructional process. The interest is totally based on the graphics and texts of the content .Similarly, a well-established content is always attractive and interesting for every sight. Furthermore, different concerns are being focused to know the extent to which the campus culture is adopted and replaced the classroom learning just to get costly educational facilities.it has emerged as a common educational aim of helping students and providing them best and effective digital technologies like Bluetooth. Undoubtedly, young people use this technology for sharing purpose and showing that they are using the same modern technologies that are used by their friends and peers. In this way it provides constructed environment that can be helpful in learning process and making interactions. Teenagers use different ways of interacting. Sometimes they use mobile phones for making constant contact and interaction with their peers. They used to interact to the purpose of sharing data and information and they immediately allow other participants to join their interacting group. The process that is known as enculturation that gives formal instruction on how a person can become a part of a specific group. For understanding enculturation process one can apply Bluetooth technology in the classroom. As Bluetooth is a new innovative handheld technology that is used to share and transfer data from one computer to another till it is enabled and activated. Bluetooth technology can be used by the teacher in the campuses. It is a revolutionary device that has changed the way of communication and connectivity. It can be used as the cordless phone in the classrooms. The communication landscape has changed and we should adopt these positive changes with time. New graphic and texts are introduced amongst young students with changing time. A Bluetooth device is used to browse, create and delete the file or folder from shared resources. It improves and creates new ideas in learning process.it is also very helpful in developing sense of responsibility in the user. Learner plays important part in learning process and teacher is only supervise the whole process. Such a devices are used to managed both data and wire transmission at same time and provide its user variety of innovative features like printing capabilities and many other. Moreover, the availability of digital devices is very important for installing Bluetooth technologies in campuses. With the help of Bluetooth technology one can also send images and videos for saving, editing and printing purpose. Bluetooth devices are compatible with every printer that is why no specific printer is required to print from Bluetooth enable device. As every printer has a capacity to understand the instructions of Bluetooth device related to produce the desired format of the image. Students can share pictures that they take during their trips and tours and can also easily share them with their peers and friends.it also creates deep understanding of the content as it enhance the learning capacity because one can easily relate it with the subject matter. A Bluetooth device can also work as a cordless phone connection with the help of transferring voice capability students can make contacts with their teacher with in the range of the network. The headsets are used for communication purpose. Teachers can discuss issues with students by using these headsets. Bluetooth devices have also solve the problem of overcrowded classes because it promotes easier and simpler way of communication. Moreover, other devices like tablet PC are also very helpful in improving the handwritings of the student’s .Similarly they also used to learn new words and vocabulary. Tablet PC are also very valuable in recognizing the handwriting of the students in this way a teacher can receive a personal work of every student neatly (Manduku, et al., 2012; Hosein & Bigram, 2013). Conclusion Although, every inventation brougth by information technology incorporate innovative features, and Bluetooth can be considerd one of the most innovative inventions of information technology. The use of Blutooth technology is increasing day by day and people are taking advantages from this technology. This reseatch has presented a detailed overview of this new type of invention. This paper has covered almost all areas of the technology and working structure. However, the basic objective of this research was to discuss the impact of Bluetooth technology on education with a particular focus on the campus communication. This paper has discussed the uses of Bluetooth technology in campuses. This paper has also discussed the scenarios in which Bluetooth technology has provided significant benefits to education sector. Especially, the students and teachers are using it for getting a large number of benefits. References Beyman, M. J., 2009. Who Invented Bluetooth Technology?.
