Australian Open and Uni SA Open Day Events By (Name) The Name of the class: Professor: The Name of the School: The Date: Australian Open and Uni SA Open Day Events The Australian open and the Uni SA open day are events that are held in Australia during specific seasons for different purposes. The Australian open is an event that entails tennis tournaments. It was first recognized as the Australasian Championships (Richard, 2017). It later became Australian championships in 1927. In 11969, it was named the Australian open. It was first held in the country in November 1905 at the Warehouseman's Cricket Ground in Melbourne. It is among the country's four grand slam events of tennis tournaments. The other three are Wimbledon, French open and the US open. The Australian open is a social event that is held annually in Australia. Its location is in Melbourne city in Australia (Paxinos, 2007). The events done during the Australian open are the wheelchair, exhibition, Legends events, women' and men's singles, women's, men's, mixed doubles and championships of juniors. Before 1988, the events took place or were played on courts made of grass. Since then, there are two types of hardcourts that have been used. They are the blue plexicushion and the green colored Rebound Race. The event registers high attendance that occasionally exceeds that of the US open. It is known as being the first grand slam tournament that has been conducted during extreme weather conditions (Paxinos, 2007). There are very few foreign players who got associated with this event due to the remote geographic location of Australia. The dates of the event kept on fluctuating before they were held in Melbourne Park (Richard, 2017). It is an event that undergoes worldwide broadcast on television. The Australian open is under the management of Tennis Australia which was formerly recognized as the Lawn Tennis Association of Australia (LTAA). The Uni SA open day events are done for the purpose of providing information to people on study matters within the University of South Australia. The event gives opportunities for people to carry out visits to the City West campus to collect information about studying at the University of South Australia. The University of South Australia was established in 1991 with a collection of several colleges and other institutions coming up together to form it. It is known for its high quality of teaching services. The Uni SA open day entails many events such as sporting, social activities, and careers. Through the Uni Sa open day events, new members have a way of acquiring information about the academics and the performance of the University of South Australia. It is an event that gives people background information about the establishment of the institution and how it progresses regarding its academic and non-academic activities that are incorporated into its calendar. The event is established by the institution to offer information on the courses and educational careers. The Uni SA day entails events that do run throughout the year. It also entails the advice and advocacy events to those seeking to attain services in the University of South Australia. The Australian open and the Uni SA day events continue to experience an expansion because of the good stakeholder engagement that has been established. The Australian open has been successful this year. The success is highly influenced by the stakeholders who are involved in the coordination of services. The Tennis Australia is one of the stakeholders of the Australian open (Paxinos, 2007). It ensures that there is a smooth running of the tennis events. This stakeholder remains significant to the Australian open because it performs several important functions. The Tennis Australia has been at the forefront of ‘greening' the Australia Open. The stakeholder also takes the responsibility of implementing the sustainability of the initiatives that are directed towards ensuring the Australian Open becomes successful. The Tennis Australia has been instrumental in addressing the environmental factors that have widely affected the Australian Open (Paxinos, 2007). Drastic weather changes have affected the progress of the Australian Open. Climate change has led to the high waves of heat that occur in Melbourne during summer times. The Tennis Australia has developed good strategies or ways of solving the environmental factors affecting the Australian open (Paxinos, 2007). The Tennis Australia has taken up leadership roles in ensuring that there is an availability of water for the function of the Australian Open. Water has been and continues to be a significant factor that is considered by the organizers of the Australian Open events. The Tennis Australia has been influential in overseeing projects such as the irrigation of the Melbourne Park Precint, maintenance of facilities, flushing of toilets among many other functions. The second governing body or stakeholder is the International Tennis Federation (ITF). The International Tennis Federation governs the world tennis. It is an important body to the Australian Open because of the functions or roles it plays for the event. First of all, its main focus is to aid in the promotion of worldwide tennis. It also coordinates the tennis events, or tournaments carried out by the Australian Open in various regions of the country. For example, it coordinated the Australian Open events of 1905 upon its establishment in Australia (Paxinos, 2007). It is a stakeholder body that promotes the events of Australian Open. It plays a very significant role in running of professional tennis. This is done through the establishment of particular relationships with professionals under specific contracts. Therefore, the development of professional tennis results in influencing the development of the Australian Open. The overall functioning and progress of the Australian Open events are improved. There are much more reasons why the stakeholders of the Australian Open are considered to be important for the event. Just to add, the Tennis Australia is committed to empowering the Australian Open event to embrace the initiatives of environmental sustainability (Paxinos, 2007). Among the many contributions of this initiative include the implementation of the specialized lighting system of the court which ensures the provision of light of high quality while utilizing less energy. High-efficiency LED bulbs are used to provide external lighting. Buildings use for the tennis games are kept cool through the use of roof coating that is reflective. Based on the aforementioned reasons, the stakeholders are considered to be the most important in achieving the success of the Australian Open events. The academic staff and those seeking the services of the University of South Australia form the better part of the stakeholders of the Uni SA day events. The administrative officers of the institution take the responsibility of carrying out the organization of the entire events. Lecturers play a vital role as stakeholders in ensuring that the objectives of the events are achieved. They are viewed as important stakeholders because of the functions they perform during the event (Buchholtz & Carroll, 2012. The lecturers and other members of the academic staff play advisory roles. The lectures and other members of the administrative council ensure that the programs of the event are well organized and are of the intended purpose. They conduct the global meetings and also aid in the registration of those who want to attend the event. Students also form part of the stakeholders that ensure that the events of Uni SA day are successful (Megalogenis, 2015). They form part of the greatest team that attends the event. Their presence during the event is of great significance because most of the activities are meant for them. The Uni SA day event is meant to provide the basic information to those who intend to attend studies at the University of South Australia. Therefore, the academic administrators and students are considered as some of the best stakeholders that work together to ensure that the events of that day are very successful and objective. Both the two events, that is, the Australian Open and the Uni SA day exhibit differences and similarities in the stakeholder relationships. To begin, differences in stakeholder relationship exist because the two events perform different functions (Buchholtz & Carroll, 2012. The Australian Open event is related to sporting or gaming activities in Australia. The event is majorly composed of the tennis games that are done in the city of Melbourne. On the other hand, the Uni SA day is an event related to academic activities in the University of South Australia. Thus, the main focus of the event is to undertake in academic duties of the institution. The Australian Open is an event that is affected by various constraints like the environmental challenges that require stakeholders in charge of the environment. The environmental stakeholders ascertain that the tennis games are played in a conducive environment. It implies that the differences in stakeholder relationships of the two events are based on the different functions of the events. The stakeholder engagement of the Australian Open events is one that is business-driven. This is because the tennis games played during the Australian Open are one way through which many people get a source of employment. The stakeholders of the Australian Open work in harmony to ensure that the tennis games of the country reach the worldly standards that are required. The stakeholders of the Australian Open event strive towards ensuring that the games become a stable way through which people can acquire income. The Uni SA day is an event associated with mainly the academic issues of the University of South Australia (Megalogenis, 2015). The main reason behind the differences in the relationships of the stakeholders is attributed to the role or the function played by each event (SorrentinI & Pianese, 2011). The main reason that is associated with the similarity that is in stakeholders relationships of the events is evaluated regarding the general objective which is to ensure that both the events are successful. The events are meant to be a source of continued development in the socio-economic sector of the Australian economy. Stakeholders have greater power in influencing the activities of an event. The strength of any stakeholder in a business event is dependent on the intensity of how it is utilized in the functioning of the events (Sen, 2008). It becomes very difficult for the two events to be influenced when they have become too dependent on their stakeholders. The stakeholders are at the forefront of determining and evaluating the achievements of the events. Anyone can become a stakeholder in an event, but some stakeholders are greatly important. Overdependence on the stakeholders such as the Tennis Australia of the Australian Open may not be an effective way through which events can achieve comprehensive goals. One way of influencing the events if they are too dependent on the stakeholders is by ensuring that better business strategies of improving the events are established (Buchholtz & Carroll, 2012. The new strategies must be those that have never been thought by the stakeholders of the events. Through this, influencing the events becomes easy. The participants of the event should not allow stakeholders to take full responsibility for the events. The participants of the events can be a source of influence. They can achieve this by establishing their ways to ensure that the collective business objectives of the events are realized. The boundaries of the operations of the stakeholders must be well established so that they do not easily influence the events. The dependency on the stakeholders of the events can be reduced upon the implementation of various recommendations. One of the ways is that each event should divide roles among various people so that the entire functions of the events are not only executed by the stakeholders. The stakeholders of the events should work hand in hand with other participants and leaders of the events to ensure that collective objectives of the events are achieved through measurable strategies. Through the implementation of these recommendations, the events become more effective and boost the economy of a country. References BUCHHOLTZ, A.K. & CARROLL, A.B.
