The paper "Understanding Leadership in Modern Organizations " is an outstanding example of a finance and accounting assignment. In the development of a personal plan for leadership development, one would have to necessarily point out the challenges that this effective development would face in the long run.  One that aims to be a leader would have to necessarily have certain competencies and abilities that would have to be present so that the leader is able to fulfill his duties as the leader of the group in the proper manner. The factor of the follower is important given the fact that whether the leadership is dealing with a single or a multitude of followers. The level of leadership that the person already has is also important. The leader’s basic nature and values have to be considered and the profit or non-profit nature of the group or organization along with the size would have to be kept in mind. 20

This would translate into the plan in terms of the fact that a one-to-one relationship between the development levels of subordinates and the leader’s style of functioning is an essential requirement. If the subordinates are more advanced the leader would have to adopt a high-directive high supportive leadership style. For each level of development, there is a specific style of leadership that the leader would therefore need to adopt. This would in essence ensure that the leadership and team management is easy to understand and easily applied in a variety of settings. The approach would therefore need to be straightforward focused more on effective communication than sophisticated leadership styles. The ideas are described at an abstract level, they are easily grasped and therefore quickly acquired. These would also be easy to apply in a variety of settings, given the fact that they are developed in keeping with the demands of the related environments. 20

The plan for leadership development would therefore be cognitive of two basic factors: the factor of leadership based on ability, competency, ability and trust along with the institutionalization of a feedback mechanism. The idea here is that a leader that has to ability to understand the goals and the purposes of the organization would automatically be able to work at a level that would enforce the goals of the organization and react to situations in a manner that would be favorable.
