Human resource anticipation makes part of human resource more so in the planning process. In this case, we shall discuss human resource forecasting in the North West Region Hospital (NWRH), Australia. The North West Hospital is a modern facility owned and is run by the federal government of Australia, under Uniting health care. North West Regional Hospital currently, is one of the largest hospitals in the state with a total of 180-bed inpatient. North West Regional Hospital has also 15 outreach sites located within the tropical, Northern Australia each of which employs about 17 persons. In total, the NWRH employs 700 people. It provides a wide range of services to the patients in medical, surgery, and in other health professionals over inpatient and outpatient divisions. The hospital however, takes care of emergencies resuscitation, resection and radical care of patients with trauma and more medical states (Gilmore and Williams, 2009). There are other services offered to the people; they include coronary care unit, surgery, and geriatric examination. It does not exclude to offer outpatient services; pediatrics units, psychiatric unit, and rehabilitation section. The Australian Council Healthcare Standards accredits the North West Regional Hospital (Del Campo, 2011). For the hospital to offer high standard care to its patients, the North West Regional Hospital needs highly qualified and productive human resources which initially include nurses, doctors, and in-patient organization administrator. The objective of this paper is to implement job descriptions, advertisement of jobs, and criterion of selection which the North West Regional Hospital can apply in employing and choosing of human resource in the near future. Job Descriptions At the North West Region Hospital, doctors, nurses, and in patient propensity, administrators have got crucial roles to play in the useful and profitable administering of medical services to people who visit the hospital. Each of these specialist have got a crucial role in achievement of the hospital’s objectives of raising health standards and prosperity of people and their fraternities, and the goal of giving efficient care to patients each and every single day. Job descriptions has got an important role in making sure that these personnel are making contributions to the excellence of the hospital’s objective and vision for the coming days. Here are the job descriptions for the post of a doctor, nurse, and in-patient organizational administrator discussed in details: Title of the job: Internal medicine Doctor Post purpose: The purpose of this post is make sure that patients get treatment, warm care following efficient examination, analysis, and/or transferring patients to other specialists in medicine field. Their specialization does not only lie on adults only and it may involve surgery, pediatrics, and obstetrics. Job responsibilities Study and interpret the patient records, findings, test out comes, and other checkups to investigate medical state of the patient Gather, record, and keep patients data which includes medical past, findings, and analysis outcomes. Elaborates steps and discusses test outcomes or recommended treatment with their patients. This means that there has to be a clear form of communication between the doctor and the patients. Performing examinations in case of occurrence of different kind of disease at the same time or in a scenario where the investigation might have been ambiguous. Keeps close look on the patients state and advancements and recommends appropriate kind of treatment to the patient If need be he/she (doctor) transfers the patient to a different medical specialist. Gives directions and organizes hospital nurses, learners, therapists, assistants, among other staffs Renders consultation/advice to other doctors handling patients with complicated conditions or unusual conditions. Improving the patient’s independence by implementing his/her care objectives, making the patients family and friends learn to accept and understand the state, drugs, and personal care skills. Follow the rules according to the nurses act and making sure that all the patient are attended to appropriately and quick response in case of emergencies Administering of drugs to the patients. The nurse is expected to make sure that every patient receives medications as instructed by the doctor Assisting in solving of patients issues and wants by application of team plans Ensure that the working environment of the hospital is kept and maintained as clean as possible, by making sure that all the rules and regulations are adhered to; in severe cases he/she should ask for assistance from the health support crew Upholds the patients confidence by not disclosing the patients information Keeps a clear record of a patient through checking with the patient and keeping copies in the record department. Maintaining a healthy relationship amongst the health practitioners through effective communication of information to the relevant recipients; quick response to requests; unity spirit; and taking part in team difficulties solving strategies. Reports to the head doctor in case of any problem or progress with the patients. A nurse should not hold information concerning a patient to himself/herself Physical requirements Physically fit that is ability to walk, climb stairs, and stand Flexible in terms of ease to movement with bending and carrying of equipments and lifting patients Working condition Ability to work in circulating shifts (day or night shifts), public holidays, weekends, and long working hours With stand patients with severe conditions and getting exposed to infectious illnesses Equipments used Thermometer, stethoscope, nebulizer, ventilator, cardioveter, syringes, transfusion sets, and endoscopes.
