Leadership Introduction Understanding ones strengths and behavior is a determinant factor in the impact that a person in a leadership position will have on his or her roles. A person that understands these attributes is at best setting to undertake strategies that meet and in extension exceed the expectations of their daily lives, in all aspects particularly their career lives. In establishing this understanding of personal attributes that constitute a person, it is essential to conduct a critical review of the knowledge and skills acquired through all basic sense of awareness and sense of the natural talents of the personal true insight. Thus, the themes constituting a person’s response to the natural setting help in establishing the individual strengths and weaknesses. The top five themes In the undertaking to establish my personal themes that constitute the individual ranking in leadership skills and talents, the report shows my themes as restorative, harmony, belief, consistency, and relator. In these themes, the restorative aspect stood out as the strongest point of my abilities. In the aspect of being restorative, this entails that I delight in solving problems (Yuchen, 2015). This theme shows that whereas some people experience disappointments once they are encountering difficulties, in my situation, it is these difficulties that energize me accordingly to take the challenge and establish solutions. Analyzing the symptoms and establishing the cause of the problem, as well as the solution is what interests me the most. Further, in this concept of the natural talent, I find practical problems rather interesting compared to personal issues, and this helps me feel confident in fixing the problems. Further, in this theme, I also greatly rely on the other themes to establish the preferences of the challenges to solve (Yuchen, 2015). The feeling of identifying and solving a problem gives me most satisfaction. Restoring normality is the rewards I get from this personal endeavor to solve the difficulties of the situation at hand. Therefore, the restorative theme is essentially the core strong point of engaging my skills and knowledge in the field, an establishment that is essential in the strengths I possess as a leader. The second theme established from the survey results of the self-undertaken is harmony. In the natural setting, harmony would appear as a theme for most people since nobody would want to live in conflict (Yuchen, 2015). However, in the concept of it being a point of strength, harmony entails looking for areas of agreement. In this understanding, there is little to gain from engaging in situations of friction and conflict. Therefore, seeking to keep friction and conflict at minimum is the greatest goal of this theme (Yuchen, 2015). For instance, when am engaging with people of different views, I always seek to establish a common ground of understanding. The major is to steer from confrontation and bring them towards harmony. As a principle, harmony is one of the rules of my personal daily engagements. Further, in the concept of this theme, I also find myself compromising remarkably, as I seek to maintain harmony (Yuchen, 2015). For instance, when engaging with people of different view, and they seem to strike in a given direction overpowering my goal, I try to adjust my goals accordingly to merge with their objectives, willingly, so that I maintain harmony in the group. In my view, I always seek to establish a sail in the same direction as the others, avoiding all confrontations and conflicts. Further, is the theme of consistency, which entails keeping a balance in the given area of relation (Yuchen, 2015). In this setting, I keenly seek to treat all people with the same attitude no matter their life situation. In this aspect, I also try not to incline towards favoring any person within the group setting, as balance is key to successful engagement with people of differing views. With the concept of consistency, the characteristics of selfishness and individualism are negative factors, impairing the level of advantage that some people will have against others (Yuchen, 2015). Further, people that gain favors depending on their background or connections have unfair advantage and thus, I seek to ensure balance and fare competing ground for all people. Thus, in this concept, I find myself acting more of as a guardian to the people around me. Rules are the guiding factor of engagement, as people function best in environment with clearly defined rules that make all people equal. Thus, all people have the opportunity to bring out their worth in the function they undertake. The fourth established theme is that of being a relator. In being a relator, it describes the attitude I take towards my relationships (Yuchen, 2015). In the simplest understanding, the relator theme drives me closer to the people that I already know. However, it is noteworthy that I do not necessarily shy from engaging with new people, in fact, it thrills me to meet and turn strangers into good friends. Nonetheless, I still find it more pleasurable and comfortable engaging the people I already know as close friends (Yuchen, 2015). After establishing the connection, I always seek to create a deep relationship through understanding their feelings goals and fears. I engage the people accordingly, understanding them from their core, and try to merge them in my individual attributes. However, much as this theme is strength, it also implies a certain amount of risk as the people I engage so deeply can easily take advantage of my trust. Lastly, the theme of belief stands strong in my core values. In belief, I find myself more family oriented, in aspects very spiritual and holding high ethics in those around me and myself (Yuchen, 2015). The theme of belief gives my life the meaning and satisfaction that is rather not oriented towards materialistic success. The prestige is in the entire personal being rather than money. Belief also gives me a sense of direction and helps in setting priorities within the context of my relationships. It also makes me reliable a factor that meshes all my values into a meaningful life and daily engagements. My attributes In view of the themes identified, I also integrate several qualities that constitute my personal development. As a person, I hold a great deal in the level of honesty kept in all relations. As a relator, when am responsible for a given team of people, I always raise the ethical plane high to ensure I maintain honesty in accomplishing the tasks given (Armstrong, 2012). Another attribute that I established is that of communication. Communication is key in every setting of relation, as well as, maintaining consistency and balance in the work setting (Armstrong, 2012). Therefore, possessing this attribute is an addition to my strengths. Additionally, I also have the attribute of possessing a notable sense of humor. Being a person of relationships and belief; humor extensively assists in meeting and relating to people at the given level of relations. Additionally, as a leader, I note that morale increases productivity and as a humorous person, this attribute helps in instilling morale (Armstrong, 2012). The attribute of confidence links to the aspect of harmony and restoration accordingly as in engaging the people to establish a peaceful co-existence, one needs to address the given conflict or difficulty with confidence. Therefore, I being a confident person extensively improves my capacity of engaging and influencing those around my settings. Further, I also hold commitment at a high level as a key in successfully engaging the task assigned to me. Therefore, this attribute is also key in the theme of relator as well as belief, as it assists in establishing trust accordingly. Changes to add to my strengths In view of the established themes that I possess, I note that here are key areas of my strength that I can improve accordingly. For instance, the strength of communication, much as I relate to the people accordingly, there is a need to create a wealth of experience in the focus of honing my communication skills. For instance, I ought to have the capacity to succinctly describe what I want and expect done (Adair, 2013). Relaying the vision to the team I engage is key to success and thus, the need to improve communication. On the strength of confidence, being a relator, confidence comes as an added advantage. It is a trait difficult to improve. However, in the theme described as belief, I realize the need to improve on confidence as key to my strengths. Keeping the level of confidence high is key as setbacks naturally decrease the level of confidence. Further, the aspect of creativity is another element to improve on my strengths (Adair, 2013). Being a person that delights in solving problems, creativity is an essential skill to add to my strengths; hence, the need to keep my direction defined and work on my creativity attribute accordingly. Working with team, workgroup or department Teamwork is key to success in a field where variety of skills and knowledge is required (Adeniyi, 2007). The work environment influences the establishment of the cohesion required to work in a context of a team or a work group. Therefore, learning from the personal attributes established from the strengths finder, there are some elements that I can apply accordingly to engage the workgroup successfully. For instance, being a relator, I can easily engage the team members at a personal level, motivating them accordingly to input heir best efforts in the task assigned. Moreover, in engaging in problem-solving, the entire understanding of the difficulty is key to working as a team. Therefore, in understanding this strength, I can easily facilitate the process of solving the conflicts that arise within the team. Engaging the parties involved in the conflict to help in establishing a common ground for action. Thus, this I will develop the ability to keep consistency; hence, maintaining balance in the way I treat all the given team members. Thus, from adopting these concepts of my strengths, I will effectively influence the team members and workgroup accordingly to achieve better results from the tasks we engage. Personalized action items for the strengths After establishing the strengths, it is essential to facilitate the action activities to further the success of this exercise. In the theme of being restorative, I will engage accordingly to assist in finding solution through structured approach, for both conceptual and personal problems in the work setting. In the context of harmony, I will seek to establish areas of agreement among the team members and workgroups, irrespective of the given backgrounds or advantage that each may have within the work setting. For consistency, maintaining balance is the role to undertake. Therefore, as the leader, each person will have assigned tasks through which their success will establish their net worth. As a relator, the action plan will entail me establishing a personal relation with all team members and trying accordingly through active communication to bring them to a common understanding in which we all engage at the personal level. In belief, the working process will focus accordingly on building confidence in each other. This will make each person more dependable, hence, achieving my goal as the leader of the team.
