It designs men’ s, ladies’ , teenagers’ , children’ s, and seniors’ handsets. The company sold about 300,000 handsets in the first launch and the company now wants to launch the same handsets in New Zealand, which has about 4.5 million people with a per capita income of about $30,000. The country has more than 100% mobile penetration and it has good terms of trade with Australia, which makes it a promising market (SATA 12). Marketing Objectives There are five objectives for this marketing, but the primary objective is to penetrate the New Zealand mobile phone market by offering quality designed handsets for every demographics in order to optimize the sales in the country.

The company will achieve the objective by designing quality handsets that maximize customer satisfaction, and by implementing a reward system, retention and loyalty strategies (Czinkota and Ronkainen 10). Target Market The target market is consumers found in almost all demographics and they include men, ladies, teenagers, children and seniors who reside in New Zealand.

The country has a population of about 4,592,420 people according to 2015 statistics of whom 2,254,070 are men and 2,338,350 are women. The majority of people are between 40 and 60 years with a few people above 70 years. There are also a significant number of people below 40 years. Marketing Strategies The first step that the company will take is to understand the behavior of mobile consumers in New Zealand because taste and preference differ from one country to another.

Therefore, the company will carry out consumer research to fully understand the behavior of target consumers. Secondly, the company will take time to understand the nature of competition to strategize on how it can have a competitive advantage in the New Zealand market. The company will also associate with good partners who understand the local market. Finally, the company will be flexible to accommodate any changes in the New Zealand market to attract as many consumers as possible (Czinkota and Ronkainen 12). Question 2 In order to ensure that my marketing plan and strategies are successful, I will first seek clarification from the executive and top management of Samotel Telecom Ventures.

I will first seek approval from the board and the CEO of the company before consulting the financial department to confirm if the plan and strategies are financially viable and if funds are available to support the plan. Other departments that I will consult include HR, sales and the production to seek more information regarding the handsets (Czinkota and Ronkainen 22). Question 3: Marketing Activities Social and Cultural Appropriateness Male handsets: the handset will be designed in such a way that they reflect male masculinity and preferred features.

Men do not prefer a bright colors like red and pink. Ladies handset: Ladies prefer bright colors like pink, purple, green and the phones will be designed to reflect femininity (SATA 103). Teenagers’ handset: teenagers prefer classy mobile phones that can easily access internet because they spend a lot of time online.
