Running Header: Leadership Student’s Name: Instructor’s Name: Course Code: Date of Submission: Leadership Each and every organization and institution needs a good leader. It has been observed that leaders should have the ability to lead. This is also the case with managers who are required to have efficient leadership skills. This means that the two issues cannot exist without each other. A successful leader has the overall ability to take an existing situation and make the best out of it (Tittemore 2003). This entails understanding of the situation and steering it into paths that will ensure the overall goals and objectives are met. This is what defines a good leader. As he or she does this, there are certain humanistic traits that come into focus. All this complement each other and ensure that the leader has come up with the best solutions to actual and potential problems. This is despite the fact that he or she is working with people who have various capacities and mindsets (Tittemore 2003). Emirates fly company is a successful company. It has benchmarked with the best practises globally for very many years. This is because of its general capacity when dealing with employees and clients in general. It is not easy to steer such a company to where it is today. There are so many issues that come into play. This is because the company is made up of diverse organizational set ups that complement each other (Tittemore 2003). The organizational structure in this company is crucial because every move by each employee contributes to the success of the organization. The unity of the different fields ensures that there is the general stewardship of a leader who wants what is best for the organization. He will have the ability to work with each leader at departmental level to ensure that it is possible to yield the best results. This shows that teamwork can be enhanced with the skills and expertise of a good leader. He or she has the general ability to bond and connect people from various departments into one formidable force. This force will work towards ensuring that the overall goals and objectives of the organization are met. Once the aspect of teamwork has been created, it is possible to deal with emerging problems. This will then encourage efficient problem solving and decision making at all levels (Tittemore 2003). The field of mechanical engineering is a very technical field in all aspects. This is especially the case for the people who do not understand what it entails. At Emirates Fly Company, each field works with the other fields to ensure customer satisfaction. As a leader, there is a lot that needs to be done at this level (Tittemore 2003). There is need to have efficient communication skills. These skills will have the general aim of ensuring that, what involves communication is done in the right way all the time. There is a need to come up with strategies that will lead to the maintenance of the machines that the engineers work with each and every day. This cannot be done if there are ineffective communication channels in place. As a leader, the channels of communication and analysis are created and co-ordinated at this level (Tittemore 2003). A leader defines his thoughts and observations on his colleagues and their output. He or she then gives them the chance to come forth and discuss their observations and opinions with each other. This creates room for the best engineering practises to be put into good use (Tittemore 2003). The aspect of coordination also ensures that the field of engineering has the ability to come up with the best structures and policies. Cooperation in the leadership hierarchy ensures that people are genuinely coordinated and they have an active chance of using their knowledge for the improvement of their field. In many cases, leaders ignore this aspect of cooperation. This is in many fields that include the engineering sector. Cooperation can be improved by having regular forums that encourage communication and the exchange of ideas. This will ensure that once the ideas are created and generated, involved parties will have the general expectations from themselves and their partners in the field. This ensures continued creativity and excellence in the field at each and every step of the way. The aspect of cooperation can also be cultivated through the general process of exchanging ideas (Tittemore 2003). This is because once this done, the silent code of leaders and those being led is broken. There are so many leaders in very many fields that do not have the capacity to break rank with their juniors. This is because they consider themselves superior in all the ways and means. An efficient leader should take into consideration the feelings of all those around him or her (Tittemore 2003). Progressive team work is seen in the general output of a company or organization. This means that a successful leader can be seen through the products that his team produces. This is because he actively guides then into making the decisions that they do. They should be timely and accurate. In the field of mechanical engineering, basic research methods should be improved at each and every level. As a mechanical engineer there is need to have the effective channels to strategise and come up with systems that can work effectively with other mechanical engineers. These are the systems that have ensured that Emirates has continued to have the systems in place to have successful engine use that is well monitored and equipped. They continued to improve in terms of machines and structures that they use. This creates a situation where it is possible to ensure for the safety and security of all the people who use the planes that are represented by the company (Tittemore 2003). Teamwork is essential. All the things that a leader carries on by him cannot be fulfilled by one person. The aspect of segregation of duties ensures that every person has the ability to contribute to the overall success of a program. If there are aspects of teamwork that are not felt, a leader should create active mechanisms for communication. This is through constant training where the people who form the team are given an active chance to communicate with each other. The training programs will also help as they will provide a platform for each and every person to say what they feel about a particular situation. This reduces the chance that people who are in a team think differently about a situation they are experiencing (Tittemore 2003). Regardless of the profession, a leader should have the capacity to understand. Understanding is as a result of the employment of all the tactics that make a situation more palatable. Dictatorial tendencies are not allowed because they create a scenario where it is hard to effectively stipulate what needs to be done. It also discourages the people around the leader from telling him what they would want to tell him. This is despite the fact that this would have adverse negative effects on the leader and the choices that he makes. Organizations all over are paying keen attention to the aspects that make up a leader (Tittemore 2003). This is because the aspect of leadership is a trait attained by very few people. This people have the ability to steer this organizations to their ultimate success. Emirates Company is an example of this organization. It invests heavily in leadership programs. The sole purpose is mentorship and training. All these are positive aspects that are required by the organization to ensure that it continues staying at the top. This is in terms of service delivery and profit making. In conclusion, leadership is the ability to have systems in place that ensure the support of the very many others. This could be the human or machine workforce. There should be coordinated efforts at ensuring that a leader is given an active forum to lead. He or she could then seize the situation and ensure that it is possible to incorporate all others around him. A good leader has the ability to control, plan and organize all the organizational aspects around him for the best results. This will be witnessed in the steps and strides that are made in the organization. A leader has specific traits and behavioural patterns that distinguish him from the rest (Tittemore 2003). This is in respect to the ability to handle situations and make the best out of what has been projected. Emirates Company is a distinguishable company. It is distinguished by its overall objectives and aims. These aims are achieved by an active unit that struggles to work hard under its leadership structures. The leadership structures are set and coordinated in such a way that will benefit people working in the organization. This includes each and every person in the organization. This is because it is their every effort that includes and forms output. This is because the output is as a result of the input that is put in by each and every person in the organization.
