Future Corporate Leaders in Managing the Complexities and Paradoxes in the Evolving Global Organization Your name Course Tutor Institution Department Introduction Evolved globalization comes along with complexities and paradoxes that shall definitely pose challenges for corporate leaders of the future. Corporate leadership refers to the ultimate actions and decisions of executives and managers who run a company. These leaders are expected to manage the company’s resources and improve the company from the perspective of overall involvement. One of the most important traits they should possess is the ability to adapt to change and be diplomatic, with good public speaking skills. Being multi-lingual could be of vital use to corporate leaders (Robin, 2014). Way Forward Some of the executives in the leading global companies argue that companies shall experience challenges which could be paradoxical: workforces shall be bigger and spread out more, though they are globally integrated; institutions shall localize coordination of various operations, but shall also require a systematic global brand so as to attract talent and clients; companies shall try to be quick on upcoming opportunities in the world, but shall also require to be careful in their actions with regard to risk; they shall depend on employee loyalty as well as motivation, but shall also have a better contingent workforce. On the other hand; there shall be diversity within the workforce and uniform culture of corporate. They believe it shall be a hard act of balancing but companies that shall have capacity to pull off shall enjoy the advantage (Laura, 2010). Coping with this kind of complexity in business sector is not all about approximating the future or decreasing risk. It is just about constructing the ability, in oneself, whole community, and the institution to adapt steadily and learn faster, so as to maximize the degree of seizing fleeting chances. These authors’ wonderful suggestions shall assist leaders of today to deal with complexity (Gerard et al., 2010). This article focuses on these complexities and paradoxes, and the solutions the future corporate leaders will have to put into consideration to ensure successful businesses. Diversity Diversity will cause complexities in cultural differences. To coordinate these cultural diversities well, leaders have no option other than establishing cultural educational sessions for the workers. For wellness, the programs should encompass corporate cultural norms and expectations, social and economic responsibilities, multi-cultural awareness and invitations of suggestions from experts in international relations. Worldwide competition will require corporate leaders to have skills in International Human Resource Management (IHRM ) for effective management of the diverse work forces originating from different nationalities with various cultures, and establish management systems to control overseas activities. Diversity will promote presence of all kinds of people in all positions with no gender, nationality, religion, or race limitations. The corporate leaders have to be willing to spend resources to manage diversity for Effective marketing and managing abroad (Bal, & Bozkurt, 2013). Corporate leaders will be required to engage in activities that manage organizational human resources at international level to achieve global business objectives and achieve competitive advantages at international levels. They need to adopt a new perspective on their role and purpose in staffing, training, selection and devising, appraisal of performance and dismissal issues that are done at international state and additional work like global skills coordination, expatriate control among others. Global Cooperation For continued success, corporate leaders have to work on the globalization strategy. Complexities that arise from competition in the global environment will offer challenge, confusion, and frustration. However, they should be considered as chance, because the key to achieving improved business results to some extent depends on the capacity to lead global output and service implementation teams. To lead a world team, these leaders must be very open on client’s demands, workers demographics, output and organizational utilities (Martinelli et al., 2011). Cross-national links will be hindered by cultural differences but despite that, the development of satisfactory business relationships is necessary since it is a prerequisite for successful international mergers, alliances, and joint ventures (Fai & Morgan, 2006). Ambiguity and Flux In an organization, there is a possibility of existence of complexities arising from an overload of information, often with numerous, conflicting data points. This will make it hard for executives to make decisions involving various issues. Together with raising unknowns, poor relationships shall be hard to point down, and this shall make it more problematic to get access to validity of the needed action. Another cause of complexities will be the unrelenting change that envelops companies, industries, and nations. Flux will also focus on the impact of speed; that is how well organizations will be constructed to push operations with high speed on top of what leaders shall want to control time (Gerard, et al. 2010). It is clear that unfurls ambiguous information will facilitate presumption of answers to known problems leaving small space for innovation of new patterns that are required to sort complex challenges. To handle these challenges, the leaders need to demonstrate better leadership which boost adaptability, studying and creative solving of problems, as leadership which enhances the scattered knowledge of the institution to flourish (Gerard, et al. 2010). Online Social and Business Networks Corporate leaders will have to know the outcomes, chances, and problems caused by online networks of interaction in their aimed context of working within business. New technological advancements will have taken place, most of them taking advantage of internet. Information based in the website profiles or even in twitter, streams might not be used well by others searching for essential figures and facts and may lead to critical destruction to the reputation of organizations. Nevertheless, on the bright side, this will enhance the consummation of goods and services. Social networks will also enhance communication and sharing of business ideas, to improve the quality of goods and services (Porfírio, A., & Dos Santos, C. 2012). Feedback `Corporate leaders ought to be free with public opinion and also engage in the dialogue to get the knack of and also empathize with the society. Using surveys with ranking scales, information from relevant organizational others, such as reports, peers, superiors, or customers, is fed back to the leaders. Through feedback and self-awareness, it is assumed that managers can improve their leadership effectiveness (Susan, et al, 2003). Effective governance needs creative thinking, planning and implementation (Tourani-Rad & Ingley, 2011). Leaders at all levels must think broadly, get new methods, offer better clarity, and enhance recommendable focus. These are directing ideas for them despite their level. Delivering the correct results all the time must be primary and better tools and also practices are needed. Motivation With increased global competition, corporate leaders will need to constantly trigger their workers. This shall be enhanced through certification, rewards, incentives, pay rises and promotion. Motivated team of work means reasonable productive workers that help someone to achieve the set business goals. Employees need direct feedback from their bosses as they want to feel good at their jobs. Motivated employees will improve in overall performance hence productivity. Leadership qualities Despite the many qualities of great leaders that have been identified, there are leadership qualities which are thought to stand as essential compared to the others. These are courage, vision, integrity, strategic planning, humility, cooperation and focus. For corporate leaders to cope with the complexities brought along by the evolving world organization, they require to get a better idea on what and when they are planning to accomplish. They require brainstorming and thinking of means to use and ensure the institution success is consistent (Brian, 2012). Additionally, they have to be willing to take risks in their goal achievement, and to be honest in their dealings because truthful is the basic quality of trusting that is essential for the progress of any company. They not only require strength and decisions but also being humble. Humility means that they recognize the value of others without feeling threatened and are willing to admit they could be wrong (Brian, 2012). Due to raising competitiveness, organizations and leaders can anticipate the future markets accurately so as to survive. Meaning that these leaders have the capacity to figure out what is ahead with accuracy whereby the markets and industry are going. Corporate leaders will have to focus on strengths, in themselves, others, of the organization and on the issues that the organization do in meeting demanding clients in the marketplace. Above all, they will need to work towards gaining understanding of others by via a commitment to cope well with others all through (Brian, 2012). Distribute leadership In most organizations, leadership is hierarchical; with top-ladder controllers fulfill allocation of resources and duties, while the middle ones are coordinators, and operational staff, implementers. Corporate leaders will have to create an environment where the lead is collectively owned, with each level having a sense of shared leadership. They will play role of catalysts for below-up communication by boosting empowerment in all levels. All people are encouraged to build on the proposed matters until they reach to mutually solution. High performance needs the flexibility, openness and also interdependence. This will only be met when corporate leaders show that they trust their employees by giving them some sense of leadership. The employees feel safer and personal confidence starts building up. Through this they explore unfamiliar and new terrains that might lead to a better breakthrough in terms of idea (Gerard, et al. 2010). The concept of globalization refers to the expanding network of international economic activity, where institutions operate as transnational’s. Like discussed above, changes that are taking place in the global organization will pose challenges to future cooperate leaders and it goes without saying they have to be dedicated in coming up with solutions in their institutions to help them cope with these challenges. After all, “To experience success, one must have whole heart in the venture and ones venture in the heart.” – Sr. Thomas Watson. References Academy Of International Business, Fai, F. M., & Morgan, E.
