Case: The Smile Factory: Work at Disneyland Case Analysis The case looks to highlight the manner in which Disneyland looks to carry out its business and aims to provide customer with happiness. This is the most important product which the organization looks to deliver. The process has as a result created a different culture within the organization where people give importance to uniform and have thereby developed a sensory culture. This gets reflected in their working scenario as Disneyland has thereby developed a different identity and they look to work out the manner they seem is fit. People have gained a sense of social status by either visiting Disneyland or being working in Disneyland as they look at it differently and has thereby led towards being different and develop a culture which is different from other organizations. The case highlights that the managers are proactive and understands the customer needs and wants. This has thereby enabled them to focus on areas through which they can satisfy the customers and act as an important social status for them. Working on the principle of being different and develop a different social culture is a surprise as it has enabled them to understand the business better. The most surprising thing for me was the manner in which Disneyland looked to work on a differentiation strategy and was successful in creating a different culture. The risk which was involved was enormous but working towards creating the required opportunities and developing the culture has enabled them to fetch bigger rewards. Developing an Argument The main point of argument will be the creation of a different culture where they have been to sensitize culture and use it as a mechanism for social status. This has enabled the business to be developed on a completely different set of fundamentals and has enabled the business to be more competitive. This is seen from the fact that the attitude of the employees is an emotional one and has thereby enabled them to deliver better results. This aspect has given them a totally different culture within the organization and has enabled them to improve the overall productivity. Inside Reader for the case The case will be of great interest to a reader as the case dwells on specific areas and issues which is uncommon. The most important area which the case stresses on is on the fact that being innovative and working on areas through which different culture can be highlighted will be an area which will attract people. The case further looks towards bringing the manner in which being different and satisfying the needs of customers through different culture arrangements can help towards ensuring that the overall results will be better. Further, the case looks towards bringing towards bringing towards the manner in which cultural dimensions can help to bring about the change in the manner people think and create a differentiation while looking to attract people. The case thereby looks to bring forward the manner in which organizations can look at garnering positive results from changing the manner in which culture reflects on business propaganda. Case: The Copper Cooled Engine Case Analysis The case brings forward the manner in which differences between different functionalities and department results in differences and requires that organization identifies a mechanism through which conflicts can be resolved. The development of the business is largely dependent on the coordination between departments and functions so that better cooperation can result in better decision making. The case clearly highlighted the manner management needs to look at abiding with the long term policies and dimensions which they have selected for the business. This would lead towards having proper firm policies in place through which effective organizational effectiveness will be achieved. The case helps to learn that managers need to understand the core areas and competencies based on which business has been developed and based on it needs to find out ways to improve business. Overall long term success of the business is shaped by the manner in which business takes different decisions and looks to achieve the long term goals which have been identified. The surprise for me was that despite difficulties the organization was able to find out the area through which business operational effectiveness can be achieved. It brought forward the fact that organization needs to devise ways through which their core goals can be achieved and the business is able to ensure steady progress. Developing an Argument The main point of argument is that differences in objectives between the same organization due to unclear goals results in impacting the manner in which organization works. Lack of coordination has an impact on performance as the organization is unclear regarding the activity which they need to undertake which thereby has a bearing on performance. This was clearly evident in the case as continuous differences between the different departments highlights that there was widespread differences in their opinion and coming to a conclusion which was acceptable by all was a difficult proposition. This also brought forward to an important arena that business effectiveness is largely dependent on the manner in which coordination among different people take place. Inside Reader for the Case The main interest in the case in the manner in which lack of coordination can have an impact on the performance of organization and coming together and working towards a common goal can help to reap rick rewards. The case material brings forward different dimensions where conflicts among the different departments has an impact on decision making and gets reflected in the performance negatively. It clearly brings forward that organizations have to work towards a common goal and have to incline the different functions in such a manner that the overall goals are achieved. The case also brings forward that having policies and developing short terms goals based on will lead towards strong performance and would help to control business. This would turn out towards supporting the business dimensions and bring about the required change through which business effectiveness can be achieved. Case: Strategy & Culture in Practise: A tale of two rhetoric’s Case Analysis The case highlights the manner in which both strategy and culture are considered important part of organizations. It is seen that some organizations give importance to culture and some to strategy but the overall long term progress of the organization is dependent on the manner in which the organization is able to use culture and strategy together. Using both culture and strategy helps organization to develop and identify the parameters through which they will be able to work on core areas and ensure better productivity. Having a mix of culture and strafe ensures that the people within the organization are better committed and work towards a common purpose. This shows that managers need to have the require expertise and knowledge where they look to integrate culture and strategy so that goals can be achieved in a better way. Organizations have been successful by using either strategy but using a culmination of both ensures better effectiveness and leads towards multiplying the effectiveness. It is also seen that that in the best interest of the organization is to use both strategy and culture together so that overall results are better. The surprise for me is that brining both culture and strategy on the same platform is difficult but in the real world organizations knowingly or unknowingly are working on the same model. This has helped them to improve their performance and identify parameters through which overall growth has become possible. Developing an Argument The main line of argument is that some organizations give importance to culture and some to strategy but the overall long term progress of the organization is dependent on the manner in which the organization is able to use culture and strategy together. The case clearly shows the manner in which both the concepts contradict each other and the business is able to develop the fundamentals based on the manner in which performance can be better improved. The different evidence also shows that the manner of working in improved if business is able to bring both function together so that overall relevance can be gained. Inside Reader for the Case The case is of high interest as it brings forward the manner in which consolidating the functions and garnering better strategy and culture can lead towards productive results. The case material shows that using an approach which aims towards integrating both the functions would lead towards creating an atmosphere where the different aspect can lead towards improved performance. The overall result would thereby aim towards creating an impact on the performance and shape the manner in which different decisions are taken. This clearly denotes that organizational functions needs to be combined and brought forward together so that performance gets shaped based on different phenomenon and factors so that business gains are achieved. This thereby helps to ensure that performance gets enhanced and better results can be achieved based on overall business dimensions. Case: The Social Structure of Managerial Work Case Analysis The case brings forward that organizations look to determine the hierarchical approach which they want to use so that overall decision making process is improved. The case clearly highlights that having a hierarchical structure which looks at consolidating the functions helps to bring about the change in the working culture. It helps to create the required authority and responsibility relationship through which overall business dimensions will be shaped towards improving efficiency. This would lead towards garnering positive results and would imply that the overall performance will be shaped in a better way. This has a great area and learning for manager where carrying out an approach which fits the organization helps to achieve better results. An hierarchical approach helps to create the require fundamentals and fixes responsibilities through which better relationship can be achieved. This would help to shape the performance an determining the manner in which different dimensions would lead towards achieving the desired results. The surprise is the manner in which organizations determines the manner in which they need to use their hierarchical structure to garner maximum advantage for the business. This helps to create the required leverage which organizations are looking at and helps to develop the required fundamentals which would lead towards improving business performance. This fundamental has a bearing on performance as it determines the path through which results will be achieved and performance would be better. Developing an Argument The main line of argument is that organizations look to determine the hierarchical approach which they want to use so that overall decision making process is improved and whether in reality the approach helps them. It is quite relevant that the overall performance is shaped when business is able to determine the hierarchical path through which different activities will be carried out. This would lead towards maximizing the gains for the business as it would lead working on different dimensions through which different fundamentals will be shaped up. As a result the case clearly denotes the different instances through which performance is shaped and gets reflected on the overall long term performance. Inside Reader for the Case The case is of interest for the reader as it helps organizations to determine the hierarchical approach which they want to use so that overall decision making process is improved and whether in reality the approach helps them. This shows that having a determined structure where the business looks at basic fundamentals for strengthening the business gets reflected on performance. This helps to determine the path which the business needs to follow and would lead towards strengthening the overall performance. The case clearly denotes that having a structure which the organization deems fit is beneficial but a hierarchical approach helps organization to determine the path which they need to follow and leads towards fixation of responsibility. This thereby helps the organization to work in a coordinated manner and achieve the different goals which has been identified. Read More
