The show will also offer an enormous variety of unique memorable agricultural experiences which are interactive, educational, entertaining and fun for all those who are scheduled to attend the event. The main objective of this paper is to discuss the essence of design and experience as a strategic component for the Royal Melbourne show. This will be through the identification of and the explanation of the significance of the values that define the events, an analysis of the design of the event and assessments of experiences of that the visitors in the Royal Melbourne show. The significance of the core value of the Royal Melbourne show in guiding the design of the event Commitment is a definitive core value to the progress that the Royal Melbourne Show has been able to realize over the years. The essence of commitment as an element of value has been essential in the determination of the principles of growth and development. According to Brown and James (2004, p. 61) there are principles which can be used in understanding design management. Commitments allows for an understanding of the scale of the event. This allows the management to assess the size of event and the available space that is to be utilized. The principle of shape allows for the design and the layout of the event (The Royal Melbourne Show 2015, p. 1). Focus is also one the values that define the Royal Melbourne Show. This is essential in the design of the event considering that it is through this principle that the management of the event to direct the gauze of the attendees to physical elements such as movement and colour. The design of the event also requires an understanding of the element of time. This principle allows the management to determine the schedule and the agenda of the event. Through the value of focus and sustainability, it is possible for the management to understand the ebbs and peaks that characterize the event (The Royal Melbourne Show 2015, p. 1). The essence of understanding the values that define the design and layout of the Royal Melbourne Show is to alter the sense of reality of the visitors that the show targets. Through such effects it is easier for the management to assess the level of experience of space, matter and time. It is also through this process that the management can use the design and layout of the event in ways that are cohesive to the realistic whole (Guide b& Jayarama 2010, p. 3788). In addition, the Royal Melbourne Show uses its values and the principal that define the design and layout in the creation of multiple players within the Melbourne showground. The use of the values in the determination of the design and layout fit the character of the enterprise production and experience. The Royal Melbourne Show attracts boasts for hours of free world class entertainment including performances including thrills and excitements of carnival rides. There are variety of things including fireworks and variety of food products. The success of the show is determined by the ability of the management to develop the design and the layout of the event in such that it attracts a high number of participants. Ticketing will also prove to be essential in the determination of the success of the event. The design of the event In terms of layout, the 2015 Royal Melbourne calendar is packed with live music, exhibitions, arts festivals, blockbuster theatre shows, and activities for children and sport. Community events and fundraisers are meant to provide the less privileged and most vulnerable members of the community with assistance in different areas of social work and engaging other members of the society in community service (The Royal Melbourne Show 2015, p. 1). The event will also be characterized by exhibitions and festivals which will be definitive of the entertainment as part of the music and film festivals. The layout of the event is expected to be successful considering that the designers program tightly and accurately in ways that will maintain the contact and flow with the audience. The intensity in terms of the organization of the event is to ensure that there is maximization of the audience. This is considered as a skill in employing limited resources in the realization of intellectual and great emotional stimulation (The Royal Melbourne Show 2015, p. 1). Colour is an essential element in the design of the event. This is because it is through colour that the designers can ensure that the environed layout engages the use of colour as a technique that can be used in the development of themes aimed at satisfying the desires of the customers (Bladen et al 2012, p. 66). Colour is also an essential aspect in the definition of the time of the event. The theme of the event can arse and can be applied in different ways.one of the ways is through the use colour to bring out the theme. Access and ticketing of the Royal Melbourne Show are some of the aspect that makes the event one of the most iconic in Victoria. The annual event takes place at the Melbourne s Showground which is highly accessible to local and international exhibitors and visitors to the event. In addition, the event is easily accessible due to the strategic location of Melbourne Showground (The Royal Melbourne Show 2015, p. 1). The layout of the makes it easier for the management to allocate different sections to different aspects of that are scheduled to grace the occasion. It is important to note that it si the responsibility of the designers to identify the areas that will attract the different members of the audience and the best methodologies that can be used to ensure that the interest of the said audiences are met (Bladen et al 2012, p. 67). Tickets for the event are available online and payments can be made through cash or through online transactions allowing visitors from the local and international platforms access the events and the exhibitions that they desire. Assess the visitor experience in the chosen event, with reference to the above The Royal Melbourne Show is one of the iconic agricultural events that characterize Victoria. This means that it is the fame that the event has drawn over the years has made it popular and it symbolizes the possibility that the event will attract about 400, 000 visitors in 2015 (The Royal Melbourne Show 2015, p. 1). According to the basic design theory for the visitors to acquire lasting experience it is important for the designers to ensure that the layout of the event from a theoretical perspective to ensure that there is sufficient lighting in every section to keep the attention of the audience focused on every aspect of the event (McAloone & Andreasen 2011, p. 16). The basic design theory requires that the management of the event considers the development of a simple layout that will enable an easier and proper understanding of the expectations of the event and those of that are aimed at satisfying the interests and the desires of the expected audience (Spurgin 2013, p. 16). There is need for the designers to identify the relationship that exists between the design of an event and the creativity. The ability of the designers and the organizers of the event to merge agriculture with different events such as music, film, community service and exhibition can be perceived as an element of creativity (Bladen et al 2012, p. 61). This is an indication of high levels of creativity. It is also through the theme of the event that the designers of the Royal Melbourne Show have been able to demonstrate to the audience the authenticity, the uniqueness and the originality. Furthermore, the designers while embracing the theme can also provide an alignment between the expectations of the audience and their imaginations of those attending the event. Cultural sensitivity is an element that defines the nature of the Royal Melbourne show considering that it attracts populations and people from different cultures (The Royal Melbourne Show 2015, p. 1). As the international and domestic cultures intermingle during the event it will be appropriate for the designers to showcase elements that demonstrate their ability to act as culturally tolerant (Wood & Brotherton 2008, p. 56). For the Royal Melbourne show, the stage is often considered different on the relationship between the host country and the expected international visitors. Furthermore, it is through considerations of cultural sensitivity that it has become possible or more visitors from the international platform to seek the provisions of the show. Conclusion The Royal Melbourne Show is to celebrate and showcase high levels of excellence agriculture and attracting more than 400, 000 people in an 11 day event. The event’s calendar is packed with live music, exhibitions, arts festivals, blockbuster theatre shows, and activities for children and sport, community events and fundraisers. There is need for the designers to identify the relationship that exists between the design of an event and the creativity. References Bladen, Charles., Kennell, James., Abson, Emma & Wilde, N. 2012.
