Target Respondent New migrants The research targeted the new migrants into the region where transformation has occurred. It will evaluate the reasons behind their will and desire to relocate into a new region. The factors that promote settlement in the region should be identified by the new migrants. Long time inhabitants The research should source information from long time inhabitants in the regions.
They would help in identifying the past situation in the region and compare and contrast their situation currently. Developer who involve with the master-plan design The other target group would-be developers who would provide information on the reasons that made them decide on that region as the best for their construction work. Environmental expert team The governmental and non-governmental experts in the environment, natural resources management and design developers should also be engaged. They can provide information on the need for using energy-efficient buildings and the importance of environmental conservation. Methodology There are two approaches (Qualitative and quantitative methods) that are applicable in the case of the Urban Renewal Authority. Quantitative method The research involves the collection of numerical data that involve scientific computations that are essential in drawing a conclusion and statistical data analysis from a large representative such as residents (Klopper, 2008, pp.
62-63). The respondent will be reached through a face-to-face interview or questionnaire. Set of data involving the carbon reduction, energy efficiency and the amount of water that should be effectively supplied will be included in the survey. Qualitative method Qualitative method is applicable in determining the efficiency and quality of the alternative source of energy and strength of the construction materials (Philip, 2004, p.
172). In addition, it helps in collecting in-depth information about how new migrates and longtime inhabitants feel about this suburb, which can help the council team in designing and marketing future development in SA. The online questionnaire is a low cost and time-saving method in this case, but a phone interview will be more efficient. Close-ended questionnaires will be prepared for the residents in order to give them a clear choice. Sample size and selection The samples for primary information may be collected under a cluster sampling system, which highly depends on the overall population in that suburb and the overall research budget given by the council. An appropriate frame and validity design and measurement are vital, given that large sample will only generate a wrong result if the questionnaire has not been tested and refined (Zikmund et al 2007).
