The paper 'Organizational Leadership ' is a perfect example of a Management Case Study. Organizational leadership is and will always be a fundamental tool for any firm that aims to prosper globally. It is usually challenging and requires a lot of commitment for the firms to sustain continuous competition with related parties. In order to improve the firm’ s performance, every leader needs to employ the management principles to maintain a good working environment among the stakeholders. This can be accomplished by identifying the essential leadership characteristics that will sustain competition within the organization.

Leaders in an organization are guided by being all-inclusive in their understanding of their assignments and ensuring there is sharing through effective communication. (Tabora, 2000) Risk management In risk management, the leader has to identify asses then prioritize the risks. Upon doing so, the resources then applied in an economical way and with coordination in order for a substantial control and minimization of any occurrence or possibility of any impact that may arise (Hubbard & Douglas, 2009). In Coal Black Company the risks are can identify with the threats arising in the firm.

The company is at the threat of losing money as its relationship between them and town is reported to be worsening. This threat exists between customers, shareholders, and the bodies for the protection of the environment. The risk mitigation measures will be re-assessing the risks raised within the company and then modifying the measures for mitigation by involving all the stakeholders. As the new CEO, I would ensure that all the concerns raised by the neighboring society are addressed. They include contamination of town supply water, attack of the endangered species.

In doing so the poor relationship between the company and the society would gradually improve and hence prevent any risk facing the company. Ensure IT on the other hand is being faced by a very big risk; the share price has dropped drastically. As a result, the shareholders and some key brokers have begun losing confidence with the company with some of the brokers threatening to leave the company while some of them have already left. This poses a very big problem for the company. To remedy the situation, as the new CEO my first assignment would be to convene an emergency meeting where different issues facing the company would be addressed.

These issues include winning the public confidence again, filling in the vacant positions by either elevating existing staff or hiring new ones. In doing so I will be able to maintain the existing key brokers as well as winning the shareholders confidence once again which will consequently result in a gradual appreciation of the share price Leadership style The act setting direction and making sure that it is adhered to derives the leadership.

This depends on the leader’ s view and the context of the issue being addressed. The manner in which the direction is provided such as in plan implementation defines the leadership style. The leadership style can be disseminated in ways such as participating, authorizing, or delegating duties. By authorizing, the leader expresses what he or she knows to the employees and how he wants to work done or accomplished without seeking information from anyone. In participation, a leader will involve the employees to make the decision.

This comes up as strength to the leader rather than being weak as if the leader may feel. The fact that the leader does not know everything maintains confidence in the organization as everyone becomes part of the team. A leadership style by delegation makes the leader responsible for decision making but in turn, allows the employees to partly make decisions. It applies where employees have a good knowledge of the situation at hand (Tannenbaum & Schmidt, 1973). In Coal Black, the previous leadership was mostly on an authoritative style where the Chief Executive Officer ignored the staff expression, as the new CEO would embrace the participatory style of leadership which will be more appealing to employees.

To accomplish this I would incorporate some of the employees in decision making in determining what and how to deal with issues arising in the mine.
