The paper "What Is the Role of Organizational Culture as a Solution to Google’s Current Issues?" is a perfect example of a case study on business. The Google Company has proven itself to be a leader in providing a reliable search engine that has a diverse range of information organized in a manner that increases accessibility to different people. The company was founded in 1998 and has since registered remarkable growth in the market. The ‘Google’ was adopted from the mathematical term ‘googol’ which signifies 1 followed by 100 zeros. The fact that Google is a leading search engine is confirmed by its 67% market share in 2012 in the search of information conducted at home and at work. The company also registered a 95% of market share in the search using mobile devices. In its initial stages, it picked up very fast because it did not have any competition from other search engines (Brown 2009, p. 428). The launch of Google prediction markets in 2005 altered the perception that previously existed at Google whereby decisions were made by the top executives. Google prediction markets introduced the opportunity to utilize the wisdom of the crowds in strategic planning and decision making while introducing a level of fun and curiosity among employees. Google prediction markets was an idea conceived by Cowgill after he had reasoned that it was possible to rely on information systems and be able to predict certain aspects of the Google markets. Notably, he solicited ideas and gained support from some of his workmates who considered the idea viable. In the model of the Iowa election prediction, they established the Google prediction markets. The prediction markets exhibited similarities with stock market functionalities.

Over the years, the company has remained innovative and has explored different opportunities in a bid to diversify its sources of profit. In modern days, access to the internet has become a reality for many people, even those in the developing world. This serves to reveal the growing market for Google products available to different people across the globe. To some people, Google has been viewed as a virtual monopoly, although it is wrong to assume that it stands unchallenged because of other available established search engines.
